In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast, could you make the 3.0.4 update the same as 2.3.5Do better than deactivating. Start looking elsewhere. Yoast has screwed up big time on this.

In reply to: [Yoast SEO] Yoast is now broken! What the heck did you guys update?!Thanks for your reply, Melanie.
That image doesn’t exist for me.
Some images of the new layout show this traffic light to the left of the SEO box, and below it are two other icons. None of those appear for me. Just one top of the traffic light image is visible and all the rest seems to be hidden behind the box. If I can’t access those icons I can’t use them!
I’m on the latest version of Firefox.
PS: Mouseover on exiting tab doesn’t do anything, clicking on the tab doesn’t do anything. And I can’t mouseover on images that are not visible.
Arggh!!

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not working with Contact Form 7I seem to have solved this.
I don’t know whether the following steps is what did the trick, but I’ll reproduce them here anyway in case anyone else finds it useful.
1. I turned off W3 Total Cache
2. I ran a couple of clean and viagra-test-123 type tests through the form. (The form worked as expected).
3. I turned W3 Total Cache back on.Forum: Plugins
In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not working with Contact Form 7This is what tech support says:
“The fact that the page hung is not a result of ModSecurity filtering the traffic and key words, but rather the application’s interpretation of error the server gave it.”

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] Akismet not working with Contact Form 7Hi again,
That “Contact Form 7 Email Issues” link is interesting, and it suggests there’s a js conflict.
I’ve found that this is not the case.
I created a new OOTB installation of WP with no plugins (except Akismet and Contact Form 7) and the problem is still there.
I’ve had much discussion with my hosting company (this site is on a dedicated server with a few of my other small / low resource usage sites).
They’ve narrowed it down. Apparently, it’s mod_security that’s stopping the viagra-test-123. When you enter viagra-test-123 mod_security is stepping in and blocking it.
The host can make exceptions in mod_security for specific words, but are refusing to turn it off (and I don’t want them to turn it off). They don’t accept that mod_security is causing the page freeze and suggest it must be something wrong with Contact Form 7.
How can I get around the problem of the page hanging when someone enters an unacceptable word into one of the fields?
This only happens when using the akismet:author and akismet:author_email

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] How to control spacing in error messages? Many thanks, that resolved the problem.
I’m with Westhost too and their solution is as below:
Fix: Edit the /wp-includes/class-http.php file
modify the following line from (line 1410)
curl_setopt( $handle, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, $ssl_verify );
to
curl_setopt( $handle, CURLOPT_SSL_VERIFYPEER, false );That fixes some problems but not all.
In my admin dashboard I still get the following under “WordPress News”:
RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: error:0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message digest algorithm

In reply to: [Contact Form 7] All emails are from WordPress. How to change this?Ah, that’s great, thanks. It now works.
Any suggestion on why my domain name is being added to the end of the user’s email address in the body of the mail?
In the body I’ve got
From: <a href="mailto:[your-email]">[your-email]</a>
When I receive an email from the form the user’s email address (from the above code in the body of the form) looks like a standard email address but when I click on it or copy paste it into a “To” field to reply I’m finding my domain name being added on to the end of the user’s email address.
