Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Multi-column galleries display in single columnEventually I was able to clear the SGoptimizer plugin cache, reset the plugin settings, etc. and the problem now seems to be fixed. Definitely not a browser issue, but the plugin bad behavior somehow, caching or settings… unfortunately I cannot be more specific. Presumably other plugins could do the same… ??

In reply to: Multi-column galleries display in single columnI see the same (bad) behavior when I activate the 2020 theme, just for new post with the problematic gallery. Older posts look fine. And I created a new post with a 3 column gallery with 2020 active, and it has the same behavior: all image thumbnails appear in a single column.

In reply to: image_default_link_type doesn’t workDoes not look like a straightforward solution intended for non-programming admins and editors!
I will continue to hope for someone to develop and share a packaged fix for this annoying change to WP.

In reply to: [Simple Lightbox] Simple lightbox doesn’t workActually I think links to this bug, (your link is to a possibly related bug dealing with thumbnails linking to the lower resolution files in the media library):

In reply to: [Simple Lightbox] Simple lightbox doesn’t workKeeping my fingers crossed re: being able to set the image link default value!!!

In reply to: image_default_link_type doesn’t workI have the same need and agree with Kevin Linden’s interpretation of the original question/issue.
Several Lightbox plugins create a full size image lightbox display for existing basic WP Galleries, but require that the the gallery link be set to media file.
I want my Simple Lightbox plugin to be active/enabled for all my WP galleries.
With recent updates, I must change every new gallery link value to media file in order for the Lightbox plugin to work for that gallery.
And of course I frequently forget to do this… I want to change the default value from “none” to “Media File”.
With previous versions of WordPress we were able to modify the default value by editing https://sitename/wp-admin/options.php, but this no longer works (when I look at options.php ‘image_default_link_type’ is set to “file”, but the default for all images & galleries is “none”).

In reply to: [Simple Lightbox] Simple lightbox doesn’t workSimple Lightbox does works for me if remember to set each new WP Gallery link setting!
The default in WP 5 changed to “none” and to use Lightbox the value must be changed to “Media File” for each new gallery.
I am unable to change the default setting using instructions to set via the dashboard Settings –> Options image-link value: it makes no difference if set to “file” or “Media File” nothing changes).

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersFYI I just noticed that the Postie success message for my test did NOT display the email subject line (of Test postie 1.8.7), but has empty single quotes:

In reply to: [Postie] Postie plugin stopped recognizing valid usersI am ignorant of the ettiquette for WP plugins: I did not expect settings to be retained after uninstalling a plugin.
For my continuing education: are plugin settings stored in the WP database?
Thanks! Also have you been able to figure out the issue with the new version of Postie?
