In reply to: Child Theme Not Displaying ProperlyAha,
Mysteriously it is now looking as it should!Forum: Themes and Templates
In reply to: Child Theme Not Displaying ProperlyI cleared my site and browser caches. When I load my site, the header is visible, but-I am seeing the menu bar displayed as a bulleted list instead of a horizontal menu bar. All of the formatting for my responsive_child theme is displayed differently than when I just activate the responsive theme. I hope this is not too confusing.

In reply to: Inserting image after menu item in header areaMy website is https://ecbloom.com and I think I am going to try to add the widget to bring in the image (unless anyone has an easier way). I registered my widget areas in the functions.php file and added the widget area. The tutorial then said to “Save a copy of your page.php and give it a different name. Then add this to the top so that WordPress recognizes it as a new page template:” This is where I get confused. Since I am adding this to the menu, do I need to put code into the page.php, or should it go into the header.php? Thanks!

In reply to: Changing faviconI am totally new to this, so you may have to explain. Where is the wp-config.php file located? I can’t find it anywhere.

In reply to: Where is my style.css sheet?I figured it out! It took me waking up in the middle of the night and thinking about it. When I imported the style.css file for my child theme, it had some extra strange code at the top. I just used the text editor in godaddy, and started a new text editor, which I will now be using instead. One of those “Doh!” moments- thanks!

In reply to: Where is my style.css sheet? No, I didn’t move anything. I had this problem before I renistalled, and that’s the reason why I reinstalled wordpress- to get a clean start. I used the text editor to create my style.css that I ftped to my child theme, so I know that’s not the problem. The twentyten theme shows up fine in my dashboard, and on my site: ecbloom.com. When I try to select my child theme, it is not in my dashboard. Very frustrating. Should I rename my editor-style.css to style.css in twentyten? I really don’t know what to do here.

In reply to: trying to install twentyten againThank you!

In reply to: trying to install twentyten againBefore I did all this, I made a backup of everything on godaddy. However, the style.css sheet has been modified by me (didn’t know about the child theme until after I did this). I have not done too much, so starting fresh is not a problem for me. Should I have them reinstall backup, start over, or is there another fix?

In reply to: trying to install twentyten againBasically I deleted everything from my themes folder, so it is totally empty. Probably should not have done that, but it’s already done. When I try to reinstall the twentyten theme, that’s when I get the error message. Should I call godaddy and have them reinstall wordpress?

In reply to: Get Rid of hover in menuAh, figured the second question out. Much thanks!

In reply to: Get Rid of hover in menuThanks- that worked! One more thing- now when I hover over HOME, the text appears as black with a black box background. How do I make the text white only when I hover over it?
