I am putting up a blog for students to be able to find events and seminars they’re interested in. They might not know the title of the event, so they will enter a search term that may or may not be in the content I created. For instance, if they type in “ill” and my post only has the word “sick” will the search not retrive this post?

I expect it to work similar to Google, where content is found using a more delicate system than just matching exact keywords, or strings.

is there a plugin to get more robust searching?

Can you explain any more? If I type in a search term into WP’s search box that is not contained explicitly within a post, how are posts found for the result-set?
