Thanks, alchymyth. I appreciate you following through on this again! I added the styles per your instructions and it worked!

I have another related question… I sometimes like to increase the margins around the images for spacing/aesthetic reasons. In the past, when I did this manually in the image editor, the text would move associatively with the image. I just wrote another short post and manually increased the margins in the image editor’s advanced settings, and while the image moved appropriately, the text was static so the image was overlapping some of the text. Is there some code I can insert somewhere in the style.css to make the text to move when the image margins are changed?

    Thanks again for your help!!!

    Thanks, esmi and alchymyth.

esmi – the images in today’s post are supposed to be center-aligned, but, as you can see, they’re on the left. (I had actually wanted them to be left-aligned with text wrapping, but no matter what I did within the image editor, that wasn’t happening.)

alchymyth – do I have to activate the default theme to see its style.css? Where do I paste those styles in my current theme’s stylesheet? And why, if those align styles are missing, is the alignment okay on earlier posts on that page (see April 1 “Rustic Design” and earlier posts)? Wouldn’t the missing .alignleft, etc. affect the whole home page?

Thanks, again. I really appreciate your help!

Thanks. I have the All-In-One-SEO and the XML Sitemap Generator plugins. They’ve been active since I started my blog. However, I did just check my sitemap and got this error message:

Error loading stylesheet: An XSLT stylesheet does not have an XML mimetype:

I don’t know what that means. Can that be causing the problem?

Also, I did do a Google search as you suggested. Many of my pages are showing up… some with the post title, some under archive dates, some with categories.

So I’m still stumped. I write my blog as a marketing tool for my business, so if I don’t get organic hits, then it’s a futile effort.

    Anyone else have ideas?

    Thanks!

Thanks for all the help, everyone! I contacted the host, and they did suspend the site!!! Not surprisingly, I never heard back from the registered owner.

I’m keeping my fingers crossed that something like this doesn’t happen again..

I just can’t believe the a**holes that are out there!! Do they really derive pleasure by doing this?? (It’s a rhetorical question, no need to respond.)

Thanks, Chris and Gabe. I’ll definitely get in touch with the host as Gabe suggested – that info shows up on the “whois.domaintool” site. They’re India-based, too, so who knows how successful that will be. I looked at Chris’s link and I’d like to be able to do that, but since I’m not very tech-savvy, I’m not sure I can easily figure out how to add the .htaccess file to my wp-contents directory. If I am successful at that, will it prohibit just the images from being hotlinked or will it prevent the entire post from showing up?

Thanks, Samboll. I get what you guys are saying, but since I write my blog to promote my business, writing a post like you’re suggesting isn’t an option. I just want to know how to stop this poaching of my posts. Is there any way I can do this???

Thanks, ClaytonJames. It’s registered to someone in India who owns 450 domains! I’ll write to him/her, although I’m not optimistic about getting any kind of response.

I may be jumping ahead, but is there anything I can do if the stealer is unresponsive?

And what does it mean that they’re stealing my bandwidth?

    Thanks!

Thanks, again. I’m actually considering hiring someone to take care of this for me. I’m in Boston, so there’s no shortage of students and/or unemployed people who I’m sure can do this much more quickly and thoroughly than I could.

    Aaarrrrggghhh!!!

Thanks, RVoodoo. Just checked your recommended link. Looks like it’ll be a pretty time-consuming endeavor, so I’ll plan to work on it tomorrow..

BTW, I’m wondering.. The past few weeks, every time a write a post, I get an almost immediate comment from the same source with the same comment. (Comments need to be approved by me, and people who aren’t registered users aren’t supposed to be able to comment at all.) Could this be the “hacker”?

Thanks, Peter. So what do I do? Is there any way to restore my blog? It appears the texts to my posts are still intact, as are the links to the images…

If it’s too long/difficult to respond, is there someplace on this forum or in Codex that you can point me to?

    Many thanks,
    Sheila

Thanks for the replies.. If it helps at all to take a look at my blog, it’s: otminteriors.com/wordpress/

pboosten – I’m running WP 2.5.1. What do you mean by owned? Hacked?

geraldyeo – no redirection, just the text “webadmin.php” and a box that looks like a search box.

Kellymar – I hadn’t installed anything new. I downloaded WP 2.8.6 to my laptop, but didn’t install it. And sorry, don’t know what jQuery is. I’m not a techie, so I’m not up on all the software, etc.

    Any other thoughts?
