In reply to: [GeneratePress] widget appearance (logic) option button gonegood morning Leo,
thanks for the quick reply <3interesting that i had the optional functionality previously, having never used any plugins.
i’ll work on the conditional logic myself and circle back if there are any problems (which i always try resolving myself before posting in forums—-though not always w success :\ ).
much appreciated… cheers!
hi,
i’m just chiming in and wonder if you’ve saved the venue in the admin. just a thought.
are you using a shortcode or widget to display the events?
did you purchase PRO version… and can you submit a ticket w TEC paid support services?

In reply to: [GeneratePress] Ggle Rich Snippet Support (free GP)thanks tom,
i greatly appreciate your time in replying.
further research indicates that yoast might do this better than i could at this point.
and i’m seeing on threads here for example:
https://generatepress.com/forums/topic/schema-org-markup/
that hardcoding can cause conflicts (if that’s the right term to use) w plugins like yoast if i want to leverage yoast (which is probably a good idea since they certainly know way more than i do) for add’l SEO stuff bc it’s a very powerful tool that does much more than just schema (if i understand correctly).
all that to ask, could i just use yoast and be done with it in order to get the site live and w adequate SEO?
it’s probably a better idea to work out my learning curve locally first before pushing my first encounter with it live right away.
i’m def excited to learn, and will for sure, but i worry i’m not skilled enough at this point.
thanks again, Lester
cheers!

In reply to: [What The File] parse error crashes the sitehi and thanks for helping.
php -v in my terminal says i’m using: 5.5.31
but phpinfo() in my local site says: 5.2.17
i’d guess this is a $PATH issue although i’m def no expert. i recently installed el capitan 10.11.4 which caused other problems due to some security new security thingy.

In reply to: [What The File] parse error crashes the siteexactly the same error as Steve Glick but on my local dev site.
thank you, mr. alchymyth,
you’ve responded to me in the past, and i’m so grateful for your help.
yes, i will read through what more to include. i appreciate being reminded and where to look.
targeting the specific container and post_class( ) in CSS did resolve the display setting without affecting other posts, yes. that worked for me.
but i was also curious why the conditional statement wasn’t working since i’ve been able to use that in the past.
it was user error, of course, but your reply did get me thinking about my mistakes and how to resolve them.
it was a rather embarrassingly dumb mistake, but i’m still new to wordpress and programming in general.
i’m glad i have somewhere to turn with questions.
your response is very much appreciated. many thanks,
USER ERROR! my mistake! my fault . . . my bad!
once again, i didn’t see the answer in the docs, here:
scroll to the bottom and voila! there’s the answer.
so sorry!
although, i still think it’s super easy to add that right into the GUI. plenty of room.
no searching necessary.thanks, and again, i’m sorry!
