Ok I never did find out where that date came from, but I did discover that if I deactivate the cross-post plugin (which I don’t even use anymore anyway) everything is fine.
I happened to notice that in the Plugins section of the Dashboard, WP was under the impression that cross-post had been used recently, when it hadn’t. It’s interfering somehow.
