Just came across this post and I’m curious whether your plugin is finished yet.

Thanks for your response. Would it be possible for you to load Neat! into the normal Themes Directory?I know it’s in there somewhere because I can find it from my free wordpress.com blog if I search themes. From my “Manage Themes” page, I searched under “Custom header (26)” and Neat! shows up as the ninth option. Of course, clicking on that option only selects it at the WordPress server, and does nothing to download it to my hard drive so that I can upload it to my hosts’ server.
Do YOU know a way to get that theme on the searchable theme directory for DOWNLOADING?
Please say yes! If only the answer were yes, Id be all finished in two minutes!

In reply to: Theme disappeared from the Theme DirectoryFor what it’s worth, I can’t even find “Kubrick” in the Theme Directory. One might think that you simply type in the name and up pops the theme with that name.
Am I missing something really obvious here, like a button that says “enter the name of the theme you’d like to find and then click here”?

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?OK, several hours and a few hundred themes later, I’ve determined that there is no other suitable theme. This means that I’m going to have to learn html so that I can rebuild the Neat! theme from the carcass that I have.
In the mean time, can somebody please tell me how hard it would be for whoever stole the Neat! theme from the directory simply to put it back? Isn’t that a fairly simple thing?

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?OK, I finally figured out that when working in the file manager, after uploading the zip file, I had to change the “extract TO”, creating a “neat” folder.
So now I have the theme installed, BUT the sidebars don’t work.
The theme you are currently using isn’t widget-aware, meaning that it has no sidebars that you are able to change.
What a pain. I don’t understand why this theme can’t just be loaded into the directory with the 700 other themes. I’m probably just going to give up and go find some other theme that doesn’t fit my needs as well. So there goes a month of developing a site based on a theme I liked!
What a waste of time.
Thanks for your help, though. It’s just one problem after another, and I don’t have the time to invest any further in hopes of piecing this theme back together.

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?LenK,
I downloaded 7-zip and successfully unzipped the neat.7z file. I uploaded the contents to my content/themes file then visited my appearance/themes page. I did NOT see “Neat” amongst the available themes. I then went to the Themes Directory and snagged another theme to see if it would work and it did.I note that my content/themes page on my dashboard still says:
====Broken ThemesThe following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.
Name Description
Stylesheet is missing.====This appears after I extract the neat.7z file in my content/themes folder. If I do not extract it, the message above doesn’t show. In neither case, however, does the Neat! Theme show on my appearances/themes page as an available theme.
Any ideas?

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?Thanks. I’ll check into that. Meanwhile, I note that when I doubleclick on the neat.7z file that I’ve uploaded into my content/themes folder, it tells me that it’s a GIF.
Should this be so?

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?No sweat about the “obvious question”. No, I had not thought to unzip it, however, it appears that this is not an option. On my desktop, I right clicked the file (neat.7z) and “Open with WinZip” is not an option as with other files that I know to be zipped files.
My options are to zip it, to add it to a zipped file, or to zip and email it, but not to unzip it.
What am I missing, greenhorn that I am?

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?PS. How hard would it be for somebody just to put Neat! back in the theme directory so that we wouldn’t have to go through all this? I sent an email to Topi at the website listed in some post somewhere, but haven’t heard back.

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?Hey, LenK—it’s springcleaning (logged in under another login).
thanks for uploading it. I just downloaded it to my desktop.
I made the assumption that I should upload it to my themes file, but that doesn’t work. Can you tell me what to do next?
Thanks!
Jack

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?Thanks for writing back. No, I don’t know what an SVN client is. Any help you can give me would be most appreciated!

In reply to: Neat! Theme – Anyone has it?I’m having the same problem finding the Neat! Theme. I just used it 30 days ago on a blog, and now I can’t find it. The archive that bachterman listed above doesn’t work. (I FTP-ed it and it was missing some vital information.) I also looked through the first 30 pages of the “most popular” in the Themes Directory. When I search “Neat”, I get only three returns, and none are it. When I search the actual title, “Neat!” (with the exclamation point), I get no returns at all.
I’m trying to move the blog to my new domain, but the theme did not transfer.
Any ideas?
