Have done more testing and seems this was caused by the ‘Can user edit this field?’ setting.

It won’t save the value to database if the ‘Can user edit this field?’ field is set to ‘No’.

Not sure if this is a bug??

I’m getting this syntax error if using dynamic text like below.

[dynamictext* user-email id:email uneditable "CF7_get_current_user key='user_email'"]

This short code displays a logged user email address in form but not editable.

I agree. A basic text editor would work for this case. It only includes bold, link, list etc.
