I think making it work as a toggle on/off would be much preferable and more intuitive. Did you maybe changed that in 0.8.4 ?

Yes this is the only problem with this plugin! Too bad it’s like that. It would’ve been a nice simple plugin that does the job!

Yes there is, find: Syndicate Out. It’s much better than this one, but the developer is still not that active which worries me. It’s really a shame that after 2 years still haven’t been made a decent plugin about this.

Actually I understand how it works now. It seems like the check mark is only to show where the post has been syndicated. If left unchecked and change something to the post it won’t push the change. The change will be pushed out only if that mark is checked. Was a bit difficult to understand, but makes perfect sense.

I have to add to this. I have used Nextgen almost since it was out and I only think the best of it. When custom post types were introduced, the first thing it came to my mind was this! I’ve always somehow hoped that the author would migrate the database to custom post types. I know it’s a LOT of hard work, but as others already said, it would become a gallery tough to beat. The possibilities would be endless. Just my two cents.

After a little research I came to the conclusion that the custom post types permalinks is still a muddy subject, so I will be stop thinking in that direction for now.

I decided to use only custom taxonomies for that matter, and use custom post types ONLY when necessary.

I have searched a lot, but couldn’t find a solution to this. I would like to do the same thing, exclude a certaing custom taxonomy tag for a loop of a custom post type.

domain.com/review/post-name

Just to clarify. I want the same permalink structure for my custom post types as I have it set for my default posts now. My default posts show up as:

domain.com/2012/02/28/post-name

I want my custom post types to appear the same as my default posts:

domain.com/2012/02/28/custom-post-name

How can I achieve this?

Thanks for your fast reply, something I thought never existed here. The first topic I marked it as resolved out of desperation 4 days after I asked the question, because I was sure no one will ever reply as with my previous threads.

The plugin question wasn’t really a question, it was more of a statement ?? wasn’t really hoping for replies anyway.

But you are right. I mostly seek opinions rather than intervention on something broken. But I DO need opinion on important topics. How else should I find out whether to use subcategories or custom post types for example? I don’t know any place better than the wordpress forum itslef for giving out opinions on new features and what is the best practice to use them.

If opinions get overlooked, and you’re probably right because I had seen some others non-answered as well, maybe there should be another section opened for discussion and opinions on features? I don’t need someone to hold my hand and point me with my finger on how to do that, instead I simply need a suggestion on what works best. A simple yes and no answer would do. If I don’t get that from the wordpress community I really have no idea where else to seek advice on best use?

Why doesn’t anybody ever answer to my threads?? Have I done something wrong? Is this too advanced to be asked here? What is the matter? What should I do to get answers by the wordpress community?
