Indeed, after a few hours of search, I was not able to find a website that integrates a WordPress header with Lumis or any other gallery.

A still good attempt is a website I designed almost a year ago, at https://www.arhisstudios.com using a common flash header.

I did find some galleries AND wordpress on the same site, but each using its own header. If header is simple (logo alone) that is fairly easy to make similar.

Thanks for the tip! Pligg is great, at least at first sight. I need to research a bit, but this might be it.

I was hoping, however, on a wordpress based solution, as I am fairly familiar with the way it works and is easy to customize.

It looks like wordpress it just not the right tool for this. Indeed, wordpress has it’s market share, but what I am trying to do seems a fairly easy modification of an otherwise great platform. A few plugins could just do it.

Pretty much the same as submitting a story for digg.

This might work. In this situation I the excerpt text and the thumbnail will also show in the post. this might be a temporary solution until I find a way to write the excerpt content separately from the posting. In my situation, I don’t want the thumbnail to be displayed in the body of the post.

OK, I know this is not a WordPress blog, but I want to have excerpts like this:

I just renamed them to .php, activated them and they work!

I still have no idea why they were .phps, I downloaded several widgets, they all end like that.
I just never thought of renaming before…

Nevermind, I found it!
MY fault, I host several domains and folders got mixed.

This is quite odd, I cannot see any blog related files on my server, I logged in with Total Commander as FTP client, but also with the web based ftp client that cames with dreamhost.

But the blog runs otherwise just fine.
