In reply to: wp-admin white screen of death — Please help!Just for another possible solution.
This has happened twice on my site (on a shared server with shared database servers), and somehow one or more database tables became corrupt. It was obvious when I set DEBUG to TRUE and tried to log in (lots of errors about a corrupt user table).
Running a MySQL repair on the database resolved it for me.

In reply to: How to move MENU below HEADER image in Twenty Twelve themeThanks, Alchymyth! Knew I’d find an easy answer on www.remarpro.com.

That was supposed to say “… it lets me exclude categories…” Sorry for any confusion.
Andrew,
Yes, there is an exclude area. And as I mentioned in my post, it me exclude categories, and page/posts by ID#, but no way to exclude this unusual URL of “/wp/wp-app.php/service”.

In reply to: [Sociable] Sociable insisting on IE Program icon for thumbnailMy “bigger concern” is that it won’t let me change it at all to one of my picture thumbnails, but forces me to post with the IE logo. I could care less if it “starts” with the IE logo, but not letting me change that default is the real problem.

In reply to: 2 of 3 upgrades worked perfectly, 3rd is BLANK now.I just tried upgrading to 2.8.2, and get exactly the same problem. An apparently “blank” site after the upgrade.
So, here’s what I want to try next. Is there a way to “move” a site’s “content” into a new wordpress shell? In other words, I’ll wipe out the entire site, install a brand new 2.8.2 WordPress, and then “import” all my old content (postings/pictures/pages/comments) to the new site, and start turning on Plugins and my Theme one-by-one?
I’d really like to be up on WP 2.8.2 at some point… ??

In reply to: 2 of 3 upgrades worked perfectly, 3rd is BLANK now.Samboll,
The memory limit didn’t change anything.
FWIW: phpinfo.php is showing identical settings for all three of my sites, but since they are hosted on the same server, in the same directory root, this was expected.
I’ll keep looking and post here when (not if) I find a solution.

Yep. There was, it’s gone, and things are “all better”. Thanks for the help!
Removed it, cleared cache and cookies, quit Firefox, and relaunched. I still get the same message on the Admin dashboard. Could there be a variable that gets set in the database somewhere?
I’m assuming that you meant the directory named “upgrade” in the ./wp-content folder?

In reply to: How can I get a frame/border around my pictures and caption?I’m having the same problem with very “plain” images on the rendered page (see the post at https://www.parkerpress.com/2009/01/31/broomfield-sunsets).
They look nice in the HTML editor, but the actual page is just a plain unframed picture with an un-centered caption. I get a funny feeling it’s due to class definitions getting changed between the editor and the “rendered page” (see
https://www.parkerpress.com/temp/edit.png
andhttps://www.parkerpress.com/temp/rendered.png
for the difference)In the editor, I see the following image declaration:
[caption id="attachment_404" align="alignleft" width="128" caption="Sunset 29"]<img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-404" title="Sunset 29" src="https://www.parkerpress.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/sunsets-29-128x85.jpg" alt="Sunset 29" width="128" height="85" />[/caption]
Leading to the following image information on the rendered page.
<div id="attachment_404" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 138px"><img class="size-thumbnail wp-image-404" title="Sunset 29" src="https://www.parkerpress.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/sunsets-29-128x85.jpg" alt="Sunset 29" width="128" height="85" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Sunset 29</p></div>
It makes me wonder if it’s because in the editor the image is “contained” within the
[caption]
tag while the rendered version has the caption as a separate paragraph.I’d love to be able to see the exact same “look” in the rendered version as I see in the editor.

In reply to: Weird URL containing DECLARE trying to get at my WP 2.6 site? Thanks. Figured it would be something like that. Just making sure.

Digitaltoast,
Thanks. This solved my issues too (editing theme.inc and entering an absolute path name to the cfg file).
