In reply to: How To Restore Categories Count in Sidebar Widget?Doh! OK. I’ve found the little “configuration” icons against some of the items on the Sidebar Arrangement page. I’ve checked the “show post counts” box for the Categories and I’ve got my numbers back.
Boy, do I feel silly.

In reply to: Sidebar Falls To The Bottomspicybroccoli,
I don’t know much about this stuff either (it’s a damn steep learning curve, isn’t it?), but I just had a quick look at your blog and it looks like your sidebar is being nested within the bit where the posts are displayed. I can confirm that it seems to start in the March archive, with previous months displaying correctly.
bhoney,
your brownsista site looks like it’s displaying ok to me – both the April posts and older archive stuff. I’m using IE7.
Don’t know if any of that helps, but thought I’d let you know what I can see from here in the hope that it might help someone else figure out what’s going on.

In reply to: Sidebar Widgets installed but can’t drag them to SidebarCordanim – maybe I can help you sort it out? You’ll find my e-mail address here https://www.bobkingsley.co.uk/blog/?page_id=2 (couldn’t find an e-mail address on your blog) – drop me a line if you like and we’ll try to tackle it together. I’m pretty new to this stuff but am happy to help if I can ??

In reply to: Sidebar Widgets installed but can’t drag them to SidebarMy God. OK. Thanks, Otto42 – it works at last! Earlier, I got rather confused about the “scriptaculous” directory. I’d installed the 2.0 version of Sidebar Widget in an effort to get it working and it came with a “scriptaculous” directory of its own. I guess it overwrote some (or all) of the more recent WordPress files. I then later deleted the whole “scriptaculous” directory when I uninstalled Sidebar Widget, not realising it was part of the original WordPress installation. Unpacking and re-uploading the WordPress “scriptaculous” directory and then reinstalling Sidebar Widget seems to have done the trick.
Still getting an error message in IE7, though – different from last time:
Line: 298
Char: 5
Error: ‘Draggables.drags[…]element.id’ is null or not an object
Code: 0
URL: …/blog/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets/widgets.phpDoes this matter?

In reply to: Sidebar Widgets installed but can’t drag them to SidebarJust in case it helps, I also get the same non-dragging problem in Netscape 8.0 and Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4.
The display in Firefox is slightly different from the other two: in IE7 and Netscape 8 the light yellow ‘Default Sidebar’ dialog box is to the right of the empty ‘Sidebar 1’ box, whereas in Firefox the dialog box is nested neatly inside it. Still can’t drag anything though.)

In reply to: Sidebar Widgets installed but can’t drag them to SidebarI’ve got the same prob. New to WordPress, installed 2.1.3 yesterday, added Sidebar Widget 1.2.1 today, finally twigged what to do with the Themes files and at last got it working – but the Sidebar Arrangement page loads with two errors in IE7:
Line: 314
Char: 4
Error: ‘Draggables’ is undefined
Code: 0
URL: … /blog/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets/widgets.phpand
Line: 447
Char: 2
Error: ‘Sortable’ is undefined
Code: 0
URL: … /blog/wp-admin/themes.php?page=widgets/widgets.phpAny ideas?
