Thank you for your fast feedback, much appreciated. I used the “regular” gallery and slider modules from Divi, no external plugins.

Indeed it may have been the WPML Media plugin that caused my multiple undesired duplicated files, unfortunately WPML seems to get more and more buggy…

The intention is to make the original theme slider work at its originally intended place, and take out the Unite Gallery slider once it’s solved.

Thanks for your replies so far. Maybe I should have mentioned that the problem occurred already before placing the Unite Gallery slider.

I included this slider after not finding a way to make the original slider working at the top (between the top and the feature pages)- as I didn’t want to leave the page without any imagery.
