Nope. If you use the plugin Platinum SEO Pack then it should do it automatically. Basically Platinum SEO puts a 301 redirect on all pages if you change permalink structure, so this way you don’t lose any traffic.

Yes you can do it. I do it with all my sites.

Do you need programming skills? If you call copying and paste php codes in the right place following a tutorial a programming skill than you need that.

Do themes tell you up front ? Not every theme is made for this. In fact none of the themes are made for this. Customizations is necessary.

You are not the right person to do this because you hate to spend time. Projects that require customizations requires time. Specially for someone who would be searching tutorials and implementing them.

Right now I believe it is using the css to create that image as a background one. So you might have to change the css, but I don’t think it is necessary.

One thing I must warn you in doing so, is that if you use a structure of a free theme, you must follow that free theme’s Terms of Services. Unless you are planning on heavy modification which means you are not going to leave any aspect of that theme left in it. So in other words I am saying that if you are modifying a free theme to use your own custom template, it will require you to put the designer’s link back or any other link back that author requires.

So the best way to go about is permission from the author and then move forward to avoid any troubles in the future.

I am about 95% confident that it is your CSS. Browser Variations are not caused due to php codes. It is nearly almost always caused by the CSS.

You need to make a separate page in your php file called travel.php use the first method in the post above …

You would change the template name to whatever you like.

Then post all your normal page.php below the only thing would be different is that you will add your static text in the php file …

Ok this is not as simple if you don’t know the coding. But it is very simple if you are familiar with WordPress. Basically you can make sets of custom pages … and have a static website going and have blog as a separate page and have it going …

A website that my company did for a client. It is all powered by one wordpress platform .. They can easily add and remove pages from their sidebar menu on each page … add/modify any text they want to… and if they add blog posts then the blog will be updated.
