I have built a Minimatica child theme with the navigation at the top of the page and the dropdowns dropping down, not up. You can find the theme at:
https://spencer-webs.com/minimatica-child/

To see the minimatica child I used to move the dropdowns to the top of the page go to
https://spencer-webs.com/minimatica-child/

This solved it:

I am having the same problem. My site is https://spencernetdesign.com/,
when I am on the portfolio pages, which are prefaced with /portfolio, as in https://spencernetdesign.com/portfolio/ – I cannot see the custom menus.
