You wanted all the features for free but that doesn’t make the free version of the plugin bad. Reviews like these will drive authors away from making free versions of plugins. Disappointing

You just need to add the class. The class is present in fontawesome stylesheet.

You can add manually by using the CSS class option for menu. CSS Classes are an advanced menu property that allow you to apply a CSS class to individual menu items. Turn on the CSS Class capability by clicking the Screen Options drop down at the top-right of your screen, and check the box for CSS Classes: Have a look at this tutorial

For example adding fa fa-heart css class will get the heart icon to display in the menu.

The free version of the plugin doesn’t have any animation.The review because of a personal preference and something we didn’t promise in the first place is unjustifiable.

Of-course we don’t own FontAwesome and its available for free.What this plugin is for is bring those FontAwesome and other icon fonts into your Website.

No we removed the files and the revslider plugin causing the issue.

Actually the malware involves multiple files. They had used revslider to gain access then used template-loader.php in wp-includes to enqueue json.min,js and in the last 24 hours the json file actually loads swfobject.swf on all the pages which loads the malware.

The free version is OK although rather cut down. My review is for the paid version. You would expect bother versions to operate the same – just with extra features.

The developer refuses to accept his product is at fault and refuses a refund. In fact he disbelieves I even activated the plugin

It is has nothing to do with what we believe or not. We use easy digital download for licensing our products and it allows us to see whether a license is active and linked to a site.

The PRO version is designed as such that you cannot use it without license key and if you had used a license it would have been activated and added to the site count you see in the screenshot below

Your attitude to support is frankly the worst I have had the misfortune to experience.

I am not sure what more do you want us to do, we are helpless to support you if you don’t share specific information about the error or give us access to the site/installation that is causing the error so we can investigate

First off all you have started a support thread in the Smarticons for WordPress free version, we cannot provide support as quickly as we would have given to the PRO version. That is why we have specifically included the contact info for PRO support at the bottom of PRO plugins admin page in WordPress.

Here are the things we have done to resolve the issue since then.

• We tested our plugin with the plugins you said were conflicting and found them to be working perfectly fine.
• We asked you to give me PHP Error Log
• We pointed our that you haven’t even activated the plugin yet as per our licens log.
• We also tried going through the troubleshooting procedure by asking you to check whether the visual editor is on or off.

We do not wish to continue to deal with you nor your product and I would like a refund. Please arrange.

Nope, we cannot issue a refund without at-least a chance to investigate the issue. Just give us your contact E-mail we will resolve this issue for you or we could E-mail you to your Paypal ID.

Another plugin (WP Jump Menu) is not working after activation of pro version of Smart Icons – this was also fine on free version

We tested the PRO version of the plugin and even tested the new Menu Add-on the plugin both seems to work along with WP JUMP menu.

Can you please post your PHP error log here so we can investigate the issue further.

The PRO version of this plugin works perfectly fine on WordPress 4.0 and we have even released its first add-on yesterday. Anyone can test drive all the features of both the plugins on our demo here

Has the API been built? I too would like to have neans to add custom fields to menu item for an upcoming plugin of ours we are increasingly likely to use what helgatheviking has used.

The plugin uses regex that keeps whatever HTML that has been inserted before class attribute so if your are including it in your wordpress content then it will show in the frontend
