In reply to: recover wootique home pageI am SO glad I posted this question!!! I have spent the last several days at this computer scratching my head.. OK, I am going to try again.
My husband says it all the time – ‘Success is one more try that succeeds.”
Glad to know the people behind the WordPress are interested in my success!!! Here goes one more try……..
If I get stuck again, I will know where to turn for help.

In reply to: recover wootique home pageI thought this theme was supported….Hhmm. Thanks for the advice. If I choose another Theme, will I have to redo my customizing? Just wondering.

In reply to: recover wootique home pageNo luck with using the default template settings. perhaps I can copy a template from the ‘shop page’ and get the functions back? the only thing it does not have is the featured products feature at the top.

In reply to: recover wootique home pageThanks so much for your help so far…I did the 1 to 4 in your last post. Got a 404 error. Page Not Found. I have asked for help from the WooThemes site. In the meantime I incorporated a ‘button’ into the image that I use for my Title/Banner since that takes you there from any page. It points the shopper to click that image to go to ‘home’. Not the usual, but functional at least.
Perhaps the Woothemes will fix it!
You have been very kind to help me! You can check out my ‘fix’ Here to see if my image looks OK for this purpose…
Thanks again!

In reply to: recover wootique home pageI have determined that I have a Home Page, but, I do not have the previous version I need. My issue now is that I no longer have the original coding that came with Wootique. (OR I do have the coding, but, my /home is no longer linked to the coding) (OR, when I was trying to set up a menu I created an extra /home page and then deleted the original one that came with the Wootique Theme)
When I go to my first version of the /home page that I still have I get one from 3-25-15. My install date is 3-24-15 and all my other pages say that date as the first version.
Perhaps I can get them to fix that page for me?

In reply to: recover wootique home pageOK! So if I want a Home page, say, on my menu…How do I recreate the page url called /home for the menu and get the Theme coding to be on it? I think I have the coding somewhere cause it works, you just can’t get to it from the menu. Only the title image I uploaded brings it up from the front end. And in the back end where the functions are I am not able to find it. (Of course, I may never have been able to. Since I was just setting up the theme and started with the products page, I had not opened it from the list yet, but, at least it was still on the list back then.)

In reply to: recover wootique home pageOK! Thanks for the info and the well wishes. I am confused that the page itself is functioning, but, the url called /home is missing. Or I cannot find my way back to it. The link that works from the page title image will get me there. There’s just no ‘page’ in my Pages list called /home. Perhaps I could contact the Theme author (the theme is Wootique) and ask them for assistance?

In reply to: recover wootique home pageThanks for answering!
That’s the trouble..I emptied the trash folder. (I’m too ‘tidy’ I guess)
what if I backed up my work, then did an update to the theme? I’m at a loss how to proceed. It’s my first attempt at WordPress.
