Hi @agpbrad,
Just wanted to add that you might want to consider updating your PHP to at least php version 7.0 which will make everything run better & faster.
Best regards,
Hi @agpbrad,
Please update the Feed Them Social plugin to the most recent version (which is 2.7.8). That should resolve any issues.
Best regards,
Hi @agpbrad,
Thanks for contacting us. I would be glad to help out, can you please include these 3 things?
1. The shortcode you are trying to use.
2. An example link to the problem in question.
3. The report from the System Info page of our plugin. Click here if you are unsure how to do this. https://www.slickremix.com/docs/system-info-page/
Hi @luskym,
My apologies for the issue. I’ve just been informed by our developer team that Instagram has, in the past few days, clamped down on it’s API calls. I wasn’t aware of this and was trying to help through our standard troubleshooting protocols.
The error is happening because too many calls (well, what Instagram suddenly deems as “too many”) have been made so they will not return the info from API. We are actually working on resolving this in our upcoming update, so that if no info is returned from the API that the feed will still stay up. However the feed should come back up in a few hours for you once the requests are minimized.
Again, sorry for the issue, we are doing all we can to resolve it.
Best regards,
Chris
Hi @luskym,
Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating them, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.
If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.
Let me know how it goes.
Chris
Hi @luskym,
Sorry for the troubles. Let’s see if we can fix the issue.
Please make sure you are running the latest version of Feed Them Social (which is currently 2.7.8).
Make sure you are signed into the Instagram account you wish to display.
Try Clearing the cache by clicking to Feed Them tab > Settings > Global Options > Clear cache
If you have completed these steps and are still experiencing the issue, try this:
Try going to your instagram account and then click the settings gear icon so you see the popup of options.

Now click on the Authorized Apps option.
Once on the next page click Revoke Access under the Feed Them Social App.

Now go back to the Instagram Options page in our plugin and click the button to get a new access token.
Lastly, Try Clearing the cache by clicking to Feed Them tab > Settings > Global Options > Clear cache
Be sure to clear any other Caching plugins you may have installed also.
Let me know how it goes.

Hi @boriskarloff,
We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Please make sure your are updated to version 2.7.7.2 of Feed Them Social from the plugins page in your WordPress Install. As per Facebook’s recent changes to their privacy policy and API rules. You must now have Admin Privileges for each of the Facebook Business Pages you want to show a feed for.
In order to show multiple feeds, first you must get an access token for the page you are trying to display that you have admin privileges for. Next, generate a new shortcode from the settings page under the Feed Them tab and it will have the access token for that specific page added to it. Repeat this process for each page.
We understand that this process isn’t ideal, but due to Facebook’s most recent changes, this is our only fix for this issue at this time.
?We? are in the process of simplifying Feed Them Social even more which will also improve this process in the future by allowing each feed, it’s settings and access token all to be re-editable without having to regenerate a new shortcode every time you want to make changes.
Let me know if that helps.
Hi @boriskarloff,
If you are running the latest version of the plugin, have Admin Privileges for the FB Business page(s), have regenerated a shortcode and token and it’s still not working, it’s possible that another plugin or Theme could be interfering. If that’s the case, we’ll need to fix the issue by doing this:
Try deactivating all other plugins besides the Feed Them Social plugins temporarily. Then test to see if it works. If this works, try reactivating them, one by one, to see which one is causing the issue.
If deactivating all plugins doesn’t help the issue try switching themes to one of the default WordPress themes then look at the page (this can be done under the Appearance tab of your install). It’s possible the theme is causing errors.
