In reply to: [Poseidon] display number of comments for a post?Thanks very much for responding. However, as I said in my OP, my coding knowledge is minimal and I have no idea what you’re talking about.

In reply to: [Nisarg] changes made customizer not permanentHi,
I love this theme. Most of the color changes work but I find that the header color does not stay changed even after I save and publish. Or it changes in the ‘customize’ screen but then when I load the site itself the header has reverted to white. I only installed it yesterday so I assume I am using your update.
I am not enough of a techie to make changes in the code unless I have very detailed explicit instructions. I need a theme that will work from the regular commands.
Thank you!

In reply to: [MobileView by Colorlabs & Company] no thumbnail photos on home pageThank you so much–I did this and it works, but the featured images are huge–I need thumbnails. Is there a setting to reduce the size?

In reply to: [WP Smart Mobile Theme Plugin] Blog title too long for header spaceToday I installed the update to this plugin, but find that there is still no option for customizing font size, and my blog title still drops down into the image above the post.
Could you explain how I can edit the header css to make the font smaller? I need detailed instructions about what line to modify and how.
Again my url is https://writingcraftandpractice.stephaniegolden.net
Thanks much for any help.

In reply to: [WP Smart Mobile Theme Plugin] Blog title too long for header spaceHere it is:
https://writingcraftandpractice.stephaniegolden.netThe top post has a photo with a black background so you don’t see the dropped letters, but they’re obvious in the next two posts.
Another problem: in all the posts, the 1st photo appears twice, sometimes farther down in the post but in a couple of cases the duplicates are right next to each other. In the desktop version they only appear once.
If it matters, I’m looking at the site on a Samsung Galaxy running Gingerbread.
Thanks
Stephanie

In reply to: [WP Smart Mobile Theme Plugin] Blog title too long for header spaceThanks–but my ability to edit html is minimal. In the themes folder there are three css files but I can’t tell which one to edit.
In wpsmart-mobile/admin/css/wps-admin.css I found:
.wps-admin-header {
-webkit-box-shadow: inset 0 -1px 0px 0px #FFFFFF;
-moz-box-shadow: inset 0 -1px 0px 0px #FFFFFF;
box-shadow: inset 0 -1px 0px 0px #FFFFFF;
background-image: -webkit-linear-gradient(#FCFCFC,#F1F1F1);
background-image: -moz-linear-gradient(#FCFCFC,#F1F1F1);
background-image: linear-gradient(#FCFCFC,#F1F1F1);
padding: 20px;
border-width: 1px;
border-style: solid;
border-color: #DDDDDD #DDDDDD #BCBCBC #DDDDDD;
border-top-left-radius: 4px;
border-top-right-radius: 4px;
font-size: 21px;
color: #555;
font-weight: 500;
position: relative;Changed 21px to 12 but it made no difference. If this isn’t the right thing to change, can you give me more specific instructions?
I can’t get this plugin to work either. I’m using a child version of the most recent update of the Twenty-ten theme and WP 3.2. When I add a link to a caption as instructed, the link html appears instead of the text of the caption.

In reply to: dashboard not loading properlyDon’t paste, even though I’m not sure what you mean by that in this context. It will not help.
You can also add these counters by getting the site to generate code for you then paste it into the footer of the page. That worked in my old version of WP and it’s the way I put counters on my regular website. It doesn’t seem the same as actually installing a plugin.
Thanks for all this advice–I’m learning as I go.

In reply to: dashboard not loading properlyYou were right! Thank you so much, what a relief.
I deactivated the most likely culprits and now everything works. But these were my site counters–statcounter and google analytics. I used the automatic installation. Is there a chance they’d be OK if I pasted in the code myself?
