That was one of the first combinations I tried. I left the wpconfig.php file alone at first. Async was enabled so I tried to disable it and it made no difference.

It was after trying that, that I edited the wpconfig file to disable wp cron.

I tried those settings again just to cover all bases and it made no difference. The same error is given.

Added the snippet to my child theme’s functions.php file and it works beautifully. Thanks so much for your help and your quick response.
