@maddogprod I decided to work around the problem for now since I am in the holiday crunch. I subscribed to the calendar using google calendar and embedded it in the site using responsive options to switch between mobile and desktop.

@maddogprod Thanks for that. I’m a little confused though. When i go to the plugin page it says version 3.0. Is this just bad housekeeping and it is a new version?

New information! Thanks for that. So if the developer would surface and tell us what the specifics of the JSON call is, we could at least hit GoDaddy with the information and get them to pay attention. The thing is, something changed. This just didn’t crop up. Something in GODaddy’s environment must have changed.

@maddogprod Thanks much for this. I have already sent a note to my client suggesting it may be time to move to another calendar. I am not pleased with the fact that time.ly has not followed up and responded to either thread on this issue. Very unprofessional. Please let me know what happens.

Ok, I spoke to a GoDaddy support person. I went at this based on the need for PHP 7.4 because that seems to be the root cause of the problem. The guy said they didn’t know when the managed wordpress environment would be updated to 7.4.

I would love to backlevel one of my sites on Kinsta to 7.3 just to 100% confirm this, but unfortunately Kinsta will not support 7.3.

The GoDaddy rep said that Cpanel accounts can update to 7.4.

Actually there is a workaround. You can subscribe to the calendar using a google account and then embed it into your site, You would need two formats one for desktop/laptop and one for mobile (agenda view).

Not the most elegant solution but it will work.

I am on hold with GoDaddy now.

I checked and have the same situation with GoDaddy’s server environment. They top out at PHP 7.3 on their dashboard. My other clients are on 7.4 on Kinsta which probably explains why they are working fine. If I have the time today I will contact GoDaddy. Stay tuned.

@maddogprod @joshgs I am using the default calendar page, but I tried the embed and got the same result.

If I have to tell my client they have to replace the calendar they are not gonna be happy because they will have to reenter all their recurring meetings.

I checked the JSON call on the broken calendar and on the one that is working and it is def returning different results. The broken one returns 500 bytes and teh good one returns 3.7kb. Big difference.

Oh, and the two sites that are working (on Kinsta) never broke. So I hope that they don’t break because they are also municipalities.

@joshgs Thanks for the feedback. I’m a little confused though. If the product has been depricated, why don’t they just say so.

Also, it would seem that this is some sort of environmental problem because I have two other sites that are working just fine.

I hope that the developer will respond because my client is a municipality and not having a working calendar could have legal implications.
