Why is it that I can assign a link to an Image Block but NOT to an Inline Image?

And why is it that I cannot select a WordPress post as link in an Image Block’s link settings?

    I have the same problem.
I’ve found a way to do this, but I cannot for the life of me imagine that this is the Gutenberg-visioned and intended way.
See for details my post here.

    Bump!
I second this because I have an identical need.
I use [display_posts] as a catalog of categorized materials encoded in posts.
I select posts for display on <category>.
Instead of having one loooooooooong page showing all posts within a given category, I like my output paginated.
Pagination has actually two distinct advantages:
-1- paginated pages better conform to the theme’s layout
-2- multiples links to your content through pagination helps increase your SEO
Let me know how I can help speed-up development of pagination for your God-awesome [display_posts] plugin.

UPDATE: issue resolved. I seemed to have overlooked the fact that I first had to install the plugin before I could successfully reference its shortcode. Which proves you should never install Ubuntu, watch Youtube, and upgrade WordPress to a major new release all in one session while your girlfriend nags you how much longer you’re going to need. Women! ??
