OK. So here’s the deal, after extensive chatting with Liquidweb, they have narrowed it down to that wp-login is tripping the modsec rule.

There is no such directory.

Left this alone for a bit as I was able to log in from another computer and all seemed fine after I was able to re-install WP. However, when on my home computer, the same issue kept happening. I do not use any plugin to limit attempts, and have contacted my hosting provider. According to them, wp-login is tripping mod security. They have stated whitelisting is not advisable.

I installed 1.5.9 and it worked. Later two did not. Hope a fix comes soon.
