In reply to: Can't open Setting Page(options-general.php) after upgrading to 4.1i’ve tried re-installing wordpress 4.1 via
1. wordpress reinstallation via wordpress itself
2. reinstalling using the latest.tar.gz from wordpress.com
3. removing only the wp-admin folder files and copying over again
4. checked and re-checked all permissions and groups on ubuntuso far nothing has worked to remedy this issue… if anyone has found a solution please post – otherwise i’ll be forced to use wordpress 4.0.1 (which isn’t so bad but still…) in the meantime as it doesn’t give me this error.
Thank you.

Using AWS EC2 for hosting on Ubuntu 14.04 LTS
I’ve upgraded every single package as of time of this post. Why is updating anything with WordPress always a problem?Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: internal server error trying to access system settingsi don’t mean to be rude but it seems to be the same problem. I was able to fix it by rolling back to wordpress 4.0 – now everything works as intended… i’m not sure what to make of it.

In reply to: internal server error trying to access system settingsI’m using my own private AWS EC2 instance on Ubuntu 14. The security group is the same as a working site I have running on wordpress 4.0.
This is not a hosting problem as far as i know.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: internal server error trying to access system settingsi’m having the EXACT same problem. I just recently installed wordpress 4.1 and am encountering this. I’ve setup multiple wordpress 4.0 sites that never had this problem. Also I can not delete plugin’s and am receiving the same error.

does php-mbstring still need to be installed before upgrading to 1.7.15.1?
I’m hosting myself and using Ubuntu 14.Thanks.
I can’t say that our problems are that similar (i’m definitely new to all of this) – however this is becoming a thorn in my mind as the days progress and I’m unable to update properly without checkouts being affected. I may just at the very least patch the “getfile.php” as noted on the PMPro site, so that the security hole can be patched. I don’t know what the outcome of this would be as I have not tried it yet. I have scheduled maintenance windows where I can perform site updates, etc so I’ll have to wait to report back until then. Thanks for keeping this thread going.
Running WordPress 4.0 here –
i’m having a similar problem. I updated to 1.7.15 the other day and my Stripe payments were not going through. I had a potential customer tell me that even though he had filled out all the proper fields for membership, it kept telling him to “Complete all fields”. I tested this and verified this behavior myself so I was forced to roll back to 1.7.14.2 – Is there any update on this? Thank you for your help.
