@bad_egg: Using CSS is not enough to resize images as the image may be needed in different places in the site. Somewhere it maybe needed as a thumbnail where as somewhere it maybe needed in its original size. Even the default WordPress themes does that by cropping images it into different sizes.

@moosewood: Firstly you will need to create a page.
Go to => Dashboard => Pages => Add New => Give the page title and content and publish.

Now,
Go to => Appearance => Customize => Menus => Edit your Menu => Add Items => Pages(Section) => Add Test1
Place NHL and Test1 like this

@newmediologo: Go to => Settings => Discussion => Other Comment Settings => Check the option Show comments cookies opt-in checkbox.

@monarchgreen The option to to widen the width of the full-width is not available in free version of the theme. I suggest you to upgrade to pro. You can check out the additional-features available in pro version of the theme.
