In reply to: Images gone from Media libraryThanks James,
I can see why that may look like the root cause and makes perfect sense apart form the fact my other WordPress sites were unaffected.

In reply to: Images gone from Media libraryI have the site back up and running and it was permissions after all.
I applied a different set of permissions for a shared server that found on anther thread and it all started coming back.
I wonder if the EWWWW IO optimisation could have set the permissions differently somehow??I’ve gradually been re-enabling my plugins and putting back the HTACCESS files. so far so good.

I’ll update in a moment.Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: Images gone from Media libraryThank you for responding. I keep looking at it and scratching my head.
My host is 1&1 (yes I know not the best for WordPress, but been okay for my sites for the last few years) and I haven’t enabled anything with 1&1 in the background.
Like I say I have another two WP sites on the same host and not experiencing any problems. I’ll double check the 1&1 control panel to see if there is anything. The only security plugin I had enabled was Sucuri Security and also using Jetpack for a few things.
And Yes getting 403 Forbidden with the detail “Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.”

In reply to: Using forms to create standard new postsThank you for the response.
I want to make it as easy as possible for the user.
Letting them loose on the dashboard might be dangerous as they would panic at having to create a new post, so ideally I would like to automate as much as I can.
