In reply to: [Zotpress] Feature suggestion: 'Convert to text/html' optionSorry, I’m not being clear. Like searching for citations in your library, inserting inline (with page refs) and creating an automatic bibliography. All the things zotpress provides really.

In reply to: [Zotpress] Feature suggestion: 'Convert to text/html' optionI can definitely see that. I think the advantage here is the in-wordpress zotero-like functions zotpress provides. Being able to convert that is a bit different to inserting citations as plain text in the first place. The disadvantage is losing the tie to the zotero data (and obviously the development time). The advantage is the stability of the citations (after removing the plugin, transferring posts to other sites), readability when editing essentially ‘fixed’ posts (because the shortcodes are hard to read in the back end). Don’t know if that’s enough to sell it!

In reply to: [Zotpress] Abstract Out Zotero Sync to Custom Post TypeAh, I was wrong it’s 300mb with them. In any case I think I do have more than 2gb…it’s a hassle :-). Anyway, if you’re over their storage limit your references are still fine – so they still sync – it’s just the stored copies won’t sync online (they’ll only be on your machine) unless you specify another storage space for them, this can either be WebDav or you can pay for more space with Zotero. See https://www.zotero.org/support/sync for details

In reply to: [Zotpress] Abstract Out Zotero Sync to Custom Post TypeZotero doesn’t have a reference limit…it has a file storage limit (for your attachments, at 2gb last time I looked I think?) but that’s a separate issue. Zotero can sync your files to anywhere and still read them/maintain the bibliographic data on their own site.

In reply to: [Zotpress] [Plugin: Zotpress] Searchable ContentHey Katie, that’s great news:-), I mean the former not the latter (although I can imagine that being cool too). Any timescale on the next version? Really appreciate the work ??

In reply to: [Zotpress] [Plugin: Zotpress] Searchable ContentNot sure you mean here Chris…
I’m also interested in whether the data could be searchable as it is in the new Zotero word versions. That way getting the shortcode would just be a matter of selecting from whatever articles appear when you search. This is a particular issue for me as I have lots of embedded collections (many of which have the same names, e.g. “method”, etc.).Also, I wonder if the “copy this” under the “key lookup” could be the whole syntax, so: “Copy this: [zotpressInText item=”xyz”] or whatever.
The Bibliplug plugin does something similar to ZotPress (although I couldn’t get it working!), but I think they’re importing the whole library (every item), and they do allow a search (although that means the item numbers are a) different, and b) ironically not obvious!).
Anyway great plugin ?? I hope it lasts!
