there has got to be a quick way to turn off RSS while i add new pages. anyone? i resorted to editing the time stamp of posts to days ago before i move them to today.
but that doesn’t work for pages.

ok, from anywhere really. but i guess if I had to chose from the header.

Simply, I want to be able to have the word “LATEST POST” link to the latest post. And not link to the category page which lists all the post, but to actual post.

A practical use of this is a webcomic. Having links

FIRST, PREV, NEXT, NEW

I know the code for the first three but what php code generates, or what code do i add to the herf to have NEW link to the latest post in a category.

I also found a hack by using a pulgin that list the recent posts in a category to list the name of the post, but like I said having it a link.

still looking for a way to link to the latest post in a categroy without showing the title of the post.

eg:

click “LATEST POST” or “FIRST” would like to the latest post in the cat. i know the code for the next and prev posts:

but what of the first and latest (mostly just the latest)

i know ppl say a page within a category is a post but its not

cause when you search threw a category such as c?=9 whatever, and youre looking threw the posts. you run into the pages that are suppose to be static.

if you cna have a static ‘post’ in a category than you can in effect have sub blogs in a network of blogs.

– Comic 1 (category)
– Welcome (page)
– Info (page)
– News (post category)
– News Post 1 (post)
– News Post 2 (post)
– Comic 2 (Category)
…etc

this works great with ugly permalinks, but when you swtich to /category/post name/ – then it messes up. (see above)
