Hi, we’ve tried that but in order to make it work we still have to add in a widget eg the text widget, which is why we put in the proper shortcode widget as that’s designed for shortcodes. Our site has over 1000 pages with multiple shortcodes for photos and albums. This would require a major update of the website and as we are all unpaid volunteers in a charity this will not be possible. At the moment, I think the best solution would be for us to leave the old version of the plugin which works until a solution is found.

Think our comments overlapped. We did it that way as we thought it had to go into a shortcode widget. We’ll try putting it directly onto the page. Thanks for the heads up.

Hi, we have now looked at this on a stand alone machine with our website on it. We have tried to reduce possibilities of it being a server problem, and any other plugin updates around the same time. It was working perfectly, and then when we updated the Photoalbum software and the same problem was replicated again. It seems to be the shortcodes containing album display codes and most of the photo display shortcodes. We also use shortcodes for other items eg flipbooks and tables and those shortcodes seem to be OK. We are using Elementor Pro and the Astra theme. We don’t have Yoast installed on the standalone version so have been able to discount that causing a problem.

Hi, we’ve now deactivated Yoast and the shortcodes are still missing, and obviously as they’ve gone, the photo albums aren’t displaying.

Yes, we cleared all caches, but will try to deactivate Yoast. Will let you know how we get on.

PS. We are now having to go back to last nights backup, which may mean that if you look at the page you will see the photo albums appearing perfectly. As there are so many albums displayed on our pages and constitute a major part of our site we can’t leave it with none of them appearing.

I have also noticed that there are numerous files being created.

They are located in: public_html/wp-content/uploads/elementor/css
The format of the filename is: post-1341.css
Note – the number part eg 1341 is different for each filename

The content in each of these files varies.

They are being generated every few minutes.

Thanks bcworkz, it’s good to get confirmation on my assumption. Thanks for the explanation of the pointer etc – good to know. I definitely didn’t upload new images, and have checked in the File Manager and there is just the one copy there, no duplicates etc. I can now rule out my page building, but will have to investigate this futher.

Thanks Joy. So I am assuming that it will therefore not take up any further server storage space (except for the nominal amount of the html pointer)? Only asking as today I was creating a page with a lot of images (that were already loaded into my media library) on it and it gobbled up server storage space. You’ve confirmed what I though it was doing, but thought I’d better check.

I’m sorry it’s on a local server not online as I’m just testing out the system for a new website. Would it be possible to send you screenshots etc via email? or some other way?
