In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Latest update (1.7) Broke my site! That solved it. THANKS!!! (That other plug-in was deprecated, and I didn’t see any conflict until the latest update … but it’s deleted now, so the site it working fine. Much appreciated!)

In reply to: [Firelight Lightbox] Latest update (1.7) Broke my site!I did as you asked. Deactivating Touch Carousel does not fix the problem. Both sliders work fine without the new version of Easy Fancybox. (plus it was working fine until the latest update).
I left ALL the plugins activated so you can see what’s happening (as you asked in a direct email) … Please let me know when you have looked at things so I can disable Fancybox again so the site will work.
FWIW, I don’t remember making *any* adjustments or settings in this section (in fact, it took me several minutes to even find it so that I could send you the image of what is there), so whatever is there has been there since the plugin was installed and are, at least mostly, the default settings that come with the package.
Thanks for the suggested changes. I’ll see if that helps (though it’s so long after the problem was posted, that customer’s issue is long ago solved otherwise/other ways).
I replied to the email … but just in case, here’s a web link to the Firewall Rules:

OK, gave that a try … though I dealt with the customer over the phone to take his order, so there’s no way to confirm it’s working now … AND I’m seeing several other IP addresses being blocked from Kansas and NY that seem like they could be customers trying to process orders, too. (Several blocks for the same IP an hour apart.)
There are *also* a number of blocks coming from China and Russia, so I’m not eager to simply disable Wordfence … but I think I need a clearer understanding about what could be tripping the alarms here so that I can make sure my customers can get through and only block trouble.
Any thoughts?

In reply to: [Smooth Slider] Latest iteration (2.6.X) is 3 updates in & still messed upOK. As of this morning, and new updates from BOTH plugins, the conflict has been resolved. Thanks.
If there’s a way to revise my rating, I’ll do so.
Thanks for the efforts (finally) to resolve the conflict.

In reply to: [Smooth Slider] SmoothSlider v2.6 is majorly effed upMy problem is this: I am using Smooth Slider on my home page (www.singout.org) … but if I update past 2.5.1 it farkles my menu system. I can’t do that for days while someone at SliderVilla might get around to looking at it. (Note that it took you 5 days or so for you to respond to my last message.)
If someone could work *directly* with me, I’d be happy to temporarily update, show them what’s happening … and then roll things back so my site will work.
Short of that, I’m already just looking for a replacement slider that will integrate without conflicting with other plugins. (Given the wide variety of *other* issues and conflicts it’s already taken three iterations for the 2.6.0 release to get correct, I’m pretty comfortable laying the blame with this plugin.)

In reply to: [Smooth Slider] SmoothSlider v2.6 is majorly effed upConflict STILL remains with v.2.6.2 … is there any way I can find out what you changed with 2.6 that *created* the conflict with my menu plugin?

In reply to: [Smooth Slider] SmoothSlider v2.6 is majorly effed upYour update *did* fix the placement problem, but it’s still conflicting big time with my Menuing plugin. I’ve rolled back again.
I saw some reference to a JS script “fix” in the latest release notes … AllWebMenus is a JS driven menu script, so the problem might be there? (I only know enough to hurt myself.)
I’m also posting the problem on the AllWebMenus plugin page … hopefully it can be fixed soon.

In reply to: [Smooth Slider] Version 2.6: Slider showing up on the wrong placeHappening on my site as well … and the update is ALSO conflicting with at least one other plugin as well.
Worked for about ONE MINUTE … until the new update was released and seems to have completely changed things up again.
I *HAVE* seen the other similar requests, and my OWN previous exchange about this seems to indicate that this is a known stumbling block for implementation of your otherwise fine plug-in … wouldn’t it make some sense to set up some kind of selectable params in a settings tool or something? Having to re-edit the files when you are releasing new versions every other day seems ridiculous.
BTW: The new variable for $cap_required was set to ‘edit_theme_options’ (not ‘switch_themes’ as you stated above). I was able to figure it out … until the file gets changed AGAIN with the next update, anyway. sigh.

In reply to: [User Photo] Photo uploaded, but not showing with author bioAs you can see, I never got any answer from the plug-in authors, but I did eventually figure out how to make it work … for me, anyway. I seem to remember that it was a combination of a couple of things. I needed to make sure that I had selected the right default pic source for authors in my theme settings AND I needed to make sure that the photo I uploaded into the author or contributor settings page was the right size (if it is, it’ll auto-generate the thumbnail on the settings page and you’ll be able to set it to “approved”). If it’s set correctly, it’ll override any other social media icons pitched in by Gravatar (like Twitter or FB, if they’re linked to a user account) … which was another of my goals.
BTW: Even if a user uploads a photo there, it will ONLY display if there is a bio completed … at least that’s how it’s working with my theme.
Awesome! Thanks to you both for the help!
