    Hi mahtlaw and sorry for the late reply. I’m glad those lines of code helped you too.

    With regard to the excerpt text, I don’t have such problem therefore I don’t have a ready to use solution. However, I guess you should start trying to identify the right lines in style.css.

    I have just checked it and found out some lines are starting with “.post-excerpts” and “.enhanced-excerpts”. Try changing or adding the color you want there, if no color is specified yet.

    Just a quick update. I did manage to solve the issue by adding this lines to my child style.css file:

    .site-title a:visited {
    	color: #333332;
    }

    .entry-title a:visited {
    	color: #333332;
    }

    Hi, I need to enable late init too and found a “Late initialization” checkbox under page cache advanced settings. Unfortunately for me, my checkbox is not checkable (light gray border) as if something is preventing to enable late init. I am trying to find a solution and found your message. It’s been some time since you posted it, but maybe this info can still help you.

    The theme I am using is Compare by Awesem. I have tried to get some help from them as well in their support forum but I could not get any advice so far. They are usually quite helpful, but Christmas time probably did not help. However, I have realized that the visual editor issue can have so many causes that it can be very difficult to solve. Or at least it can take a lot of time to figure out.

    The good news is that I have finally found a workaround for the visual editor to work and I hope it will last even with future WP upgrades. I have realized that in order for the visual editor to work with the Compare theme on my website, I need to load the single post/page editing page with the text editor selected and then switch to the visual editor. Indeed, if the visual editor mode is already selected when I enter the editing page, it won’t show up, even if I switch to the text editor and then back to the visual editor.

    There is clearly some kind of conflict between the Compare theme (on my site at least) and WordPress, but I could not identify it for sure. As I wrote before, I have also tried disabling plugins, but the problem was still there. However, as long as this workaround works that’s fine with me.

    Hi Handoko and Sandy and thanks for your feedback. I’m glad you managed to solve the problem with your visual editors. Unfortunately for me, I am still struggling with mine.

    Since posting my first message, I have realized that the visual editor starts working again if I switch to the default WordPress theme. However, that is not a viable solution for me because my theme has some particular features that the default WP theme has not and therefore I have to stick with it.

    In the past I had already noticed some changes with the visual editor when using different browsers, but this time it doesn’t show up in any of the main browsers (IE, Opera, Chrome, Firefox, Safari). Same for the plugins. When I tried disabling all of them, the visual editor was still missing.

    In fact, the visual editor appeared again from time to time and I have noticed some slight changes when using different computers, but most of the times the visual editor doesn’t work with my theme and the pattern of its behaviour is still quite mysterious for me.

    I hope that this will get magically fixed with the next WP release (but I’ve read that I might have to wait for another couple of months for that, and of course there is no guarantee that the visual editor will work even then). So, in the meantime I am going to re-try out some of the suggestions found online, including the two that worked for you.

    Miklb, thanks for your reply. After reading it, I have deleted the info.txt file from my website root and the page started showing again as usual.

    As far as I understand, the info.txt file was created by WP 2.0.2 with the information I wrote in the “Author Info” box in my user profile. I did not remove that file when upgrading, and maybe something has changed in WP 2.0.5.

    However, thanks again for your your help. Your question about the .txt file worked like an answer.

    By the way, I forgot to mention that after upgrading I have updated the permalink structure.

    I have also tried to post an article and everything seems to work fine (except for the info page).

    Yes, sorry about it, I was still checking some permissions on the .htaccess file and noticed that if I chmod it to 660 the site is not accessible.
