An update. I’ve tried the installation on a fresh wordpress installation (latest version) and have the same problem.
I’ve been playing around with the settings and it seems as if the problem is completely limited to sandbox mode. It seems to work perfectly when outside of it, although I am yet to run a complete test. Will post progress.
