In reply to: Permalinks don’t work in Yahoo WebhostingSame problem. My site got repeatedly hacked running v2.02 with Yahoo so i finally got around to upgrading but now if i enable the Yahoo permalinks structure (/year/month/postname) which i used previously it breaks all my links.

In reply to: Formatting for tables in pages/postsNo, I’m still not getting this. I’ve created a text file called tables_min.css and placed it in the directory of my current theme.
If i want to use that style in a post how do i refer to it? My advice was something like placing the following at the top of the post:
<style type=”text/css” media=”all”>
@import “tables_min.css”;
and closing the style tag at the end. That doesn’t work however.Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Formatting for tables in pages/postsExcuse me but i’m a real noob to this. I don’t seem to have a file.css. Are you saying i can create a file called file.css, add it to my theme folder and it will then be used for my tables?

In reply to: Help – changed permalinks and now blog is brokenIt appears from previous posts that permalinks will only work on Yahoo in the format site/index.php/permalinkstructure
The yahoo plugin must do the work of the .htaccess file but it would be nice if they mentioned the need for /index.php/ in the path.

In reply to: Help – changed permalinks and now blog is brokenThanks for the quick response and the ‘less panic’ advice – it’s just that i am off on holiday for a few days and didn’t want the site broken while i’m away.
The yahoo permalinks plugin is enabled and i’ve managed to get back to default now. However, i’d still really like to use better pagenames.
The problem i’m having is that even with view hidden files checked in filezilla i can’t see .htaccess. When i tried creating a .txt file and renaming it neither filezilla or yahoo would let me rename it to .htaccess.

In reply to: Help – changed permalinks and now blog is brokenthe site is https://www.nicolai-uk.com
i’ve tried changing the permalinks so many times it now just seems completely fubar.
I was thinking if i could find the content to back it up i could do a complete uninstall/reinstall but i can’t work out what i’d need to back up to do that.

In reply to: Image upload not working.I tried to say in my original post that i’ve created directories in various places, altered the permissions using Filezilla and altered the directory WP is looking for though my control panel but with no success.
Your post seems to suggest switching off safe mode but i’m not clear how to do this. My site is hosted by Yahoo if that’s any help
