Ok, Thanks guys… I think I got it. Probably I’ll use a combination of both for now… I’m kinda used to dw at least in terms of basic design… I can see the day, however, that I get away from dw all together. Thanks all for your comments!

The conflict that I’m concerned about is mostly php. Now I’m running php scripted & configured to run in concert with apache, dreamweaver and mysql. If I try to download php again either binary or xampp, will it conflict with my existing setup?
I now understand, after having spoken to Bluehost, that I can do the whole thing (WP) on a remote server, however, I would prefer to use a local server. How would apache handle that? (for example).
Sorry, I’m having trouble explaining myself due to lack of experience.

If there is anyone out there who can offer some intelligent advice, I’m asking if I can run php from 2 different folders on the same drive or separate drives, will they conflict? I don’t want risk overwriting my existing settings until such time as I decide to use wordpress exclusively over dreamweaver..

    “designer code wannabee”
hmmmm – is that like someone who wants to understand more about design code? Is that your exclusive world root? Does that make me an idiot to want to know that? how old are you? 10?
I especially chuckled at your line “I am staying out of this. Sorry.” A little contradictory, don’t you think? Does that make a “wannabee” for intelligent social communication?
