    Yes, the plugin works with WordPress PHP 7.4. Our our developers have tested the plugin with PHP 7.4.16 and it works.

    To install the widget using Google Tag Manager, follow these steps:

    1. From your Google Tag Manager panel, click on New Tag

    2. Choose the Custom HTML Tag option.

    3. Paste the tawk.to widget code inside the HTML container. Click on the Continue button to proceed.

    4. Add a rule that will fire the tag on All Pages. Click on the Create Tag button when you are done. You will need to name the tag (e.g tawk.to) and then Save the name.

    5. To finalize adding tawk.to to your site, you need to publish your container. Click on Publish button in the top right portion of the screen to proceed.

    6. Finally, click on the Publish Now button.

    We also support Google Adwords tracking integration.

    Google conversion tracking can help you see how effectively your ad clicks lead to valuable customer interaction with tawk.to.

    We block crawlers (bots) from accessing the embed code to preserve the accuracy of visitor statistics for our users. Without blocking crawlers, they would show up in Monitoring and mess up the stats in the Dashboard.

    Since website speed testing tools use crawlers to measure website loading speeds, embed.tawk.to will return an error.

    By default, there are two accounts in your Dashboard: your Business Property account and your Profile account.

    In your case, I believe you are seeing the Inbox section of your own profile account. This is the reason you are not seeing the 43 messages.

    To view the messages and tickets for your Property, follow the steps below:

    1. Click the Messaging icon in the left sidebar menu
    2. Select your Property by hovering over the hamburger icon at the top of the Dashboard.
    3. Your Messaging window will now show the messages for that Property.

    I would recommend the following solutions as a way to secure visitor details and reaching back to them when you’re not available.

    1. Modify your Away status message.

    Away Status means you are online and available to answer chats but have set the widget message to say “Away” – to set the visitor’s expectation that you may or may not be available to answer their chat. Create an Away message telling them you are currently unavailable and ask them to leave their name and email address.

    2. Activate your Chat Rescuer.

    This trigger is used to auto-respond to messages if agents don’t respond in time. You can set a delay message to trigger anywhere between 10 seconds, and up to 1 hour.

    Example: If no agents responded to an incoming chat for about 20 seconds, the Chat Rescuer Trigger can be set to spring into action with a message like this – “Thanks for your patience. We are currently unavailable at the moment, please leave your name and email and we will get back to you ASAP.”

    3. Add a pre-chat form.

    You can add a Pre-Chat Form requiring the visitor to answer set questions before a chat commences. Fields can include their name and email address, even a phone number and location. However, be aware the form can act as a deterrent to some visitors and in turn reduce your engagement rate. Statistically, is known to reduce engagement by up to 37%.

    Once you have visitors details, the chats can be converted to tickets and responded to at a later date (via the messaging tab in your dashboard).

    Customizing the “Write a reply” message is currently not available.

    I would suggest modifying your Trigger message asking your customers to specifically click the chat button if they need a chat support agent.

    Example: Hello and Welcome to our site!
    If you have any questions or if you need a chat agent to help you, simply click the chat button icon or type a message below to start a chat!

    I hope this suggestion addresses your concern.

    I’ll also like to inform you, that we’re about to launch a majority update to the widget look and feel. This may also help address the concerns you shared.
