Thanks. If it affected my site, I’d delete it. Site is fine. I installed two other spell checkers. I want to test all three to see which is best for me.

    Off to report it

Hm, okay. I just thought if 236 IPs tried to get into a file, the vulnerability may be real. I have WordFence and Sucuri. At times it blocks the IP. Other times one IP tries 50 tines.

If I see them trying to exploit wp-cron, Akismet, or other files, I’ll ignore it. Right now I have six sites to check and see what they are looking for. Too many plugins seem exploitable.

If they turn out to be exploitable, I’ll know I tried.

Oy, I am farklempt! FTP changed user #1 but apparently that’s not me. I think my username was different at first.

So, I tried phpmyadmin. It gives “error establishing a db connection” error. I’m assuming the db has a different phpmyadmin password than the one I just created, or else WordPress just doesn’t like me.

So now I’m truly screwed. I’m about to remove the line I added via FTP and will ask my host to get into wp_users table and change my pass. That will take a week ??

    Other suggestions???

Thank you! Now, how do I fix the script sending out email with invalid link? Users will get frustrated and be quite unhappy.

I noticed that the link appeared in my browser as “…log” rather than “…login=username.”I added the rest but it still erred. I am (was) on my iPhone. I’m wondering if this is the problem. I’ll obviously check it later on my iPad and Windows laptop, but either I’m cursed or I found a glitch and deserve a reward ??

    (it’s 3:45 a.m. I’m slightly delusional when I wake up worried about a website). ??

Theme files were not touched but reuploaded.

Thanks. I renamed the security plugins. I’ll reenable one at a time to see which blacklists me.

I’ll go read how to reset my pass

I renamed security plugins to get in. It won’t recognize my pass and three requests to send a new one haven’t come through.

The “error” on login is the missing text, now showing.

Thanks. My host sucks. They’ll never respond. I’ll try …

Thanks, but which files in which theme do I change, and what text do I make the changes in?

I’m too busy to get into an unwanted pissing match by responding.

I didn’t get to my laptop but just checked the folders: plugins/name-of-plugin/name-of-plugin

I see the issue. I tried to move it up a folder but got a 550 error. Tomorrow I’ll get on the laptop as I can move things using Windows programs easier.

    Thanks!

    Thanks. I didn’t think I had, but …

I upload via Windows on my laptop. I don’t like the FTP programs on the iPad plus I figure if uploading a Windows product, don’t use Apple.

I checked the /plugins folder and saw them. I’ll double-check tomorrow on my laptop. Maybe they’re hiding in a sub folder.

    Thanks ??

It was hacked sixteen months ago. It’s on the list to delete, reinstall, add the custom theme and restore db.

I’m not posting about the hack. I’m just curious what users and search engines are doing to cause this error.

Single install. All are in /plugins. The site is not for publication. Why hire an expert when folks here are generally helpful at no cost? I want to do things myself. I had over one hundred WordPress sites ten years ago. Near-death illness left me with amnesia. I can refer back here when I asked for help. I used to code. Now I can’t remember simple, daily things.

Am I abusing this site in some way? You called me out in public, basically saying I’m an idiot, yet others post questions often and seemingly are allowed. I ask politely, don’t yell or swear, ask pertinent questions (I hope), yet I’m publically embarrassed for using this Support site for support.

I don’t know you nor do I see why my request garnered your anger.

Nothing in my admin area allows me to delete or rearrange categories. What am I missing?

Yes, thanks, it does. I tried to edit the theme itself. Forgot I could change it in the Admin area.

It took me a long time to find a coder at jobs* but I’ve found someone knowledgeable and inexpensive.

After fifteen months I can finally work on a site! ??

Thanks to the folks that created jobs*
