I added the following to line 708 in aioseo.class.php but get only “array” in the place where the category parent should be…

$title = str_replace('%category_parent%', get_the_category($category->category_parent), $title);

Any ideas?

If you edited the header.php file, just overwrite it with the default or compare to see if you accidentally changed something…

It’s also possible you messed with the custom menu (“menu” tab) and didn’t select the on you want to use. Try building new menus.

Let us know more – what changes did you make? It’s not always plug-ins, sometimes its even easier…
