I am using a posts page as my front.

I tried the plugin on a couple of WordPress blogs I have, using the original theme as well as the Silver-Light theme.

In both blogs, the Widget Logic _does_ work in keeping my widget off of individual posts and pages. However, it always shows up on every subpage of posts (https://www.xxxxxxx.com/page/2/, etc.)

    Thanks,

    Greg

I’m using 2.1 — there were some very significant issues. I’m trying to manually edit the emails through the pluggable.php files now and while it’s not optimum, it’s working for now. Of course, if I upgrade, God help me remember all the fixes.

Wow – super simple and it worked fine…

    THANK YOU!

    Hi chradil –

I went ahead and tried your fixes — first, I tried the Login code — it did work in the sense that it logged you into the system, but it dropped me on the wp-login.php page with it blank. I had to manually get back to the front page and there I could see I was logged in.

So then I tried the registration aspect, and that just dropped me on the wp-login.php?action=register page so it actually didn’t work at all.

I really, really love the idea of being able to register/login from the front page (or elsewhere on the site) and am surprised it’s so difficult — I could probably tweak the code for the login to redirect back to the front page, but the register box seems to be more what I need.

Any help from anyone is appreciated!

LOL – yes, the search doesn’t work with that term consistently — sometimes it shows one list of results, other times it doesn’t. Sweet.

I would be happy if someone had an answer to this. I have not been able to change it either. I have modified my user info and tried that route, but I feel it’s something in the core…

I was able to successfully edit the subject line with the help MichaelH provided, but, also true to his word, as soon as I did more it broke the file.

So, for now, the subject was at least changed. I continue to seek out a better way to do this in the future.

I tried the plug-in — didn’t work at all for me. I emailed the author but haven’t heard back. I think it’s a major flaw that WP doesn’t allow and easy way to customize these emails/etc.

I think the solution listed by Software listed is effective for older versions of WordPress because there aren’t those file calls in my copy of wp-mail (I have WP 2.1)…

However, creating a WordPress email address helped — it’s still not the optimum solution, but it fixes the problem I had (which was the same as the one listed in the original note).

Now if I could change the wording of the email….

    Thanks,

    Greg

I actually went ahead and changed themes completely — it’s a new site and no one had really seen it yet so it wasn’t a big deal. I liked the theme but didn’t love it. Found something I liked a little more.

    Thanks for your help.

Thanks openpundit. I tried your suggestion — it did change the way the entries below it showed up, but they still showed up. I will keep moving it around and see if it helps.

The theme I am using is Blu3zin3 Theme (https://themes.wordpress.net/columns/3-columns/1566/blu3zin3-10/).

A couple of other notes just for the moment – I said in my original post that it happened with the other themes (it doesn’t — don’t know what happened there) and also I have tried deleting all plug-ins to see if that was part of it. Nope!

    Anyway, I will start tinkering!
