I’m just so relieved my site is back up!

you rename the wp-content folder to wp-content2, then you upload the files from 3.1.2 to your wp directory on the web server.
overwrite the files. then you delete the new wp-content folder and rename the old one back to wp-content

only problem is wp-admin is messed up ??

One problem, my admin dashboard looks messed up and it says “Database Update Required

WordPress has been updated! Before we send you on your way, we have to update your database to the newest version.

The update process may take a little while, so please be patient.” in all the panes. should i click “Update?”

What PHP version? You have to use 5.2.4 or better or else WP 3.2 won’t work right.

Thanks I’m trying to upload 3.1.2. Do I overwrite the wp-content folder?

Oops one last thing: if I get my host to upgrade PHP then will the issue fix itself?

PS: according to cPanel this is my PHP version: 5.2.14

did not work:- re-uploading all files & folders – except the wp-content folder – from a fresh download of WordPress.
did not work:- resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

I would like to know how to re-run the upgrade manually. thanks.

I had a successful 3.2 upgrade on my other site. so that’s one went well and one gone bad

i renamed the theme folder. instead of switching to twenty ten it really just gets messed up and wont show anything at all. i will try the resetting of plugins folder now. thanks for ttying to help ??
