I had the same exact issue. If you are moving from 1&1 WordPress to your own WordPress
here is a solution you can try.
1 – Save the RSS feed of the site you are working with (e.g. blog.mysite.com/feed as an XML file on your desktop (e.g. feed.xml).
2 – If you are using WordPress on the new site go to Import -> Import RSS. Find the feed.xml file that you saved and hit import. That’s it. WordPress will import all the posts, etc with timestamps, tags, etc. intact.
