Hi @sayn0thing,
I tested your site with our SEO Analyzer again and it seems to be working fine now. I’m not seeing that message for robots.txt anymore.
Could you please go to?All in One SEO > SEO Analysis?and click on the?Refresh Results?button and let me know if you’re still facing the same issue?Hi @sayn0thing,
Thank you for providing additional details regarding the error message you’re encountering in the Advanced SEO section. Based on your description, it sounds like you’re referring to our SEO Analysis tool.
I’ve taken the liberty to run a test on your site using our SEO Analyzer, and it appears that access is being blocked by the Imunify360 firewall on your server. This blockage is preventing our SEO Analyzer from properly checking your robots.txt file, which is likely causing the error message you’re seeing.
Here’s what we’re getting for your robots.txt file: https://a.supportally.com/i/85H2HI
To resolve this issue, could you please ensure that our IPs are whitelisted on your server and firewalls? This step is crucial for allowing our SEO Analyzer to access your site without being blocked.
You can find detailed instructions on how to whitelist our IPs in our documentation here:
https://aioseo.com/docs/seo-analysis-unable-to-connect-to-your-site/Whitelisting our IPs should allow the SEO Analyzer to connect to your site and correctly check your robots.txt file, eliminating the message you’re currently experiencing.
If you’re unsure how to proceed with whitelisting or if you encounter any difficulties along the way, we recommend reaching out to your hosting provider, as they’ll be able to assist you in making the necessary adjustments.
Rest assured, your robots.txt file is present and appears to be correctly configured from an SEO perspective. Please let me know once you’ve had a chance to whitelist our IPs or if you have any further questions.
Hi @acinonynx,
Could you please check if you’ve enabled the?Crawl Cleanup?and?Remove Query Args?feature by following the steps below:
- Log into your site and go to All in One SEO > Search Appearance > Advanced.
- Scroll down to Crawl Cleanup and check if that’s enabled.
- If it’s enabled, please check if Remove Query Args is set to Yes.
Here’s a screenshot reference – https://a.supportally.com/i/U7Y3Uh.
This feature removes the query args used for sorting and filtering from the end of URLs, which is most likely why you are experiencing this problem.
The Crawl Cleanup and Remove Query Args features are disabled by default, and AIOSEO will not remove any query arguments unless you’ve manually enabled these features.
We also display a warning under the Remove Query Args toggle. This feature is only designed for advanced users who understand the possible ramifications these changes can make.
We have mentioned this in our documentation as well –https://aioseo.com/docs/crawl-cleanup-best-practices/#remove-query-args
If this feature is enabled, can you please disable it, clear all the caching on your site and server (if any), and let me know if the problem persists?
Hi @sayn0thing,
Could you please clarify where exactly you are seeing the error message regarding the robots.txt file being missing or unavailable? Additionally, could you provide the URL of your site so that I can take a look?
Hi @cheekymate06,
Firstly, it’s important to note that WordPress automatically creates the robots.txt file. This file is not generated by All in One SEO. AIOSEO offers a feature that allows you to add rules to the robots.txt file for further customization.
I checked the robots.txt file of your site and it looks absolutely fine.
I’d recommend checking the status of your robots.txt file again and requesting a recrawl if necessary.
- Log into Google Search Console: Access Google Search Console and sign in with your account.
- Select Your Property: Choose the correct website property from the dropdown menu in Google Search Console.
- Access Settings: On the left-hand side panel, click on ‘Settings’.
- Check Robots.txt Status: In the Settings section, look under the ‘Crawling’ header to find the status of your robots.txt file. If it’s marked as “Valid”, this indicates that the issue has been resolved.
- Request a Recrawl if Needed: If the status is not “valid,” click on ‘Open Report’ under the robots.txt file section. Next to your robots.txt URL, click on the three dots and select ‘Request a recrawl’. This will prompt Google to recheck your robots.txt file.
- Wait for the Update: After requesting a recrawl, wait for Google to update the status. The ‘Checked On’ column will display the date when Google last crawled your robots.txt file.
If after these steps the issue persists or if you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Hi @wildfire9859,
I’d like to clarify that All in One SEO does not generate any Product Schema. This functionality is a part of our paid plugin (All in One SEO Pro).
Therefore, the warning you are seeing in Google Search Console is coming from the Schema generated by WooCommerce itself.
WooCommerce is already aware of Google’s recent updates regarding shipping and return information in the Merchant Listings report.
We could have provided a code snippet to address the missing schema fields if they were generated by AIOSEO. However, since the Schema in question is coming from WooCommerce, our filter code won’t be applicable in this scenario.
If you have any further questions or need assistance with anything else related to AIOSEO, feel free to reach out. We’re here to help!
Hi @antisborrat,
After reviewing the screenshots you’ve provided and checking your site’s configuration, I can confirm that your robots.txt file and sitemap.xml files are set up correctly. The issue you are experiencing with Google reporting an “Invalid sitemap URL” error is, in fact, a known issue on Google’s end.
Google is currently aware of this problem and they are actively investigating it further.
You can stay updated on this issue and find more information on the following Google support threads:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/246093982?hl=en&msgid=246172241
https://support.google.com/webmasters/thread/246133059/error-invalid-sitemap-url-detected-syntax-not-understood-line-3?hl=enIn the meantime, there is no action required from your side regarding your robots.txt and sitemap configurations.
We recommend monitoring the situation through the provided link for any updates from Google.
Hi @arsilan,
The favicon/site icon is not managed through the All in One SEO plugin but is instead set through WordPress settings.
For your reference, here is our documentation on this-
https://aioseo.com/docs/how-to-display-a-favicon-in-search-results/Upon reviewing the source code of your site, I can confirm that you have already set a favicon. However, it appears that your favicon may not be following Google’s guidelines. For optimal display in Google search results, the favicon should be a multiple of 48px square.
Please make sure that you’re following all the guidelines provided by Google here: https://developers.google.com/search/docs/appearance/favicon-in-search#guidelines.
It’s also important to note that setting a favicon does not guarantee its appearance in Google search results. As per the article mentioned above, “A favicon isn’t guaranteed in Google Search results, even if all guidelines are met”.
