    thank you.

    I did find my original download afterall. I opened the file: sidebar.php and replaced the code. Now, I have nothing in my sidebar at all except a search box.

    I still can’t get beyond the downloading the sidebar.php part. It’s probably obvious to you but not to me. I will learn from this lesson to save my code before I start playing with it again. I just like to write…not so good at the technology aspect but I guess I’ll learn eventually.

    Unfortunately that is not in my realm of comprehension. Like I said on the other post the duplication was an accident and I don’t see a place to redownload the default sidebar.php. I see a place to edit it. I was hoping there was a code I could copy, paste and save so I could start over.

    I know. It was an accident. The first time I posted i got a response that said something like “no search met your criteria” so I figured I didn’t really post anything.

    I don’t see an option for Upload or Replace. I just see where I can edit or update. Where do I go to get the original code?

    How can I revert to the default sidebar and start over?

    I think I need to do this. How do you find the “default ones”?

    Just for fun I put this code:
    <?php get_sidebar(); ?>

    Right before the get_footer code because that the way it is on the page template. It made the sidebar show up but it’s underneath everything, not along the side of the post like I want it to be.

    Here’s a sample:

    Am I on the right track?

    jeromyboyd…I’m trying to follow you. I went to my single post template. I’m having a hard time knowing exactly what the “important part/loop for single post” is.

    Here is my code, can you tell me where the “loop” part starts and ends?

    <?php get_header(); ?>

    <div id=”content” class=”widecolumn”>

    <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>

    <div class=”navigation”>
    <div class=”alignleft”><?php previous_post_link(‘« %link’) ?></div>
    <div class=”alignright”><?php next_post_link(‘%link »’) ?></div>
    </div>

    <div class=”post” id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>”>
    <h2><?php the_title(); ?></h2>

    <div class=”entry”>
    <?php the_content(‘<p class=”serif”>Read the rest of this entry »</p>’); ?>

    <?php wp_link_pages(array(‘before’ => ‘<p>Pages: ‘, ‘after’ => ‘</p>’, ‘next_or_number’ => ‘number’)); ?>
    <?php the_tags( ‘<p>Tags: ‘, ‘, ‘, ‘</p>’); ?>
