Hello again. I have reported back to the theme author and this is what was suggested. Is this something that can be done to address the problem?
“I am not familiar with this plugin but if the problem is with wp_update_hook then the plugin author can use a global variable to store the updated post ids so he can stop the functionality if the hook is being triggered multiple times.”
Hi, adding that snippet generates four emails. So it’s being duplicated again.
The theme I’m using is using a modified version of WP Jobs, so it uses front-end submission options. I also have SMPT setup.
Hi Jack,
I’m back. Unfortunately, it’s not been resolved.
So my user does not have publishing capabilities. The theme I’m using is using a modified version of WP Jobs, so it uses front-end submission options. Upon submission, the post goes into pending status and is published by admin.
According to my email log, two emails are submitted to the author to notify them of the pending submission. They are triggered at the exact same time. When I turn off better notifications, no emails are being sent – not even from my theme or any WP notifications.
Yes, I am able to use the ‘pending’ status, but the problem is that two emails are being triggered. Any ideas? Not sure how I could get you my login credentials as there is no ‘private’ options for this forum.
Thank you for always being so prompt.
Hello again, I think I figured something out. My theme adds another status : ‘pending approval’ to my posts. I think this is somehow causing a conflict. How do I get the plugin to recognized all status options available?
Thank you.

In reply to: [WP Recipe Maker] Serving sizes?Hey, thanks so much for the quick response! I actually don’t want to use the nutritional label, I prefer keeping it simple. But if you add in that option to the recipe card, I will be happy to purchase the premium version.

In reply to: Post Category shortcodeThank you, thank you so much. I don’t know how long that would have taken me to figure out!
I see that the categories have no links. Should they be links to the category archives?
Hi Jack, it looks like you’ve added the shortcodes…or I just missed them earlier.
Using [global_user_firstname] allows me to address the users in their email greetings. Thank you. ??

In reply to: Nested reply question..well after thinking and over-thinking about this quest, I’ve decided that life would be a lot easier if I just limit the comment replies to level 2, which will keep it limited to just one reply to a comment.
Thank you for listening to my rambling and the helpful advice you provide the community here.

In reply to: Nested reply questionHey you again. ?? Thank you for your input and response.
I know that my theme utilizes the core wordpress functions for comments/replies. Unfortunately, I don’t know php well enough to create what I’m trying to achieve. Maybe I will look into hiring….do you take jobs?
My site is a directory website. I want to allow users to leave reviews on listings and listing authors to respond and also give the OP a chance to offer a follow up reply, bringing the discussion to level 3. If closing discussions at level 3 stops all other comments, that just won’t work.
I mainly want to offer 1 comment/reply from each – OP, Listing Author and OP. Just enough for some depth, but I don’t want to it to be abused and turned into a grievance discussion.
Maybe it’s more trouble than it’s worth though. ??

In reply to: Masking Last NamesHey it’s you again! Thank you for editing my response so that others can use it. If you have any ideas, I just posted another question in “everything else”. Cheers.
Sorry I figured this out. The “Do not send this Notification to the User that triggered it” option was hidden when I selected the option to send to author.
I do have another question though. Is there anyway to target the parent comment author with a shortcode? I am using your plugin to create a notification to a post author of a comment, and if the post author replies to a comment, to notify the parent comment author.
The notification works, but in the greeting, I have no way to address the email recipient by their name, as I am able to do with the post author name.
Thank you.
