I finally had it solved: The hoster of the WP installation had to whitelist the destination IP address.

Update:

FTP Server Hoster confirmed a quick timeout after establishing a connection.

Website Server Hoster confirmed the port range to transfer the updates are open.

I don’t see any other options.

For unknown reasons, it works on one site of the same hoster, but not on all other sites.

That’s the big issue, it works on some sites and on others not.
Same plugin, same settings, same FTP server.

I already reached out to the FTP server guys and they did their best and could not find an issue. There again, it works with other sites well…

Maybe something with the FTP transfer library?
You share the same with UpdraftPlus I think?

I have removed files from backing it up to drastically reduce the load/fliesize and it doesn’t change anything, same FTP issue.

There are no other jobs running at the same time, we have only nightly backups and my tests are during the day.

Please help.

Solved: 1.1.6 works. All versions after that are not working.
