Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: RSS FeedI apologize for the delay in responding to your answer to my question. Thank you for your help. I found the feed page, but assume that it requires someone who knows how to find it to subscribe to my feed. Thus I put an “RSS Feed” link to this page on my sidebar. Is this the only way to let visitors to my site know that they can subscribe to my feeds?

In reply to: Photos Show on Some Pages, Not OthersAh ha! When I deleted the file under Posts the Recent Posts link disappeared, too.
This topic can be considered resolved.

In reply to: Photos Show on Some Pages, Not OthersIt worked! If you go to https://lifeofvictoryenterprises.com/introduction-to-charles-fillmore/ the image shows.
The only issue I have now is that under Recent Posts I have “Introduction to Charles Fillmore” twice, but I can live with that. I have a limit of 5 set and after I put in four more that first one will disappear.
Thank you for helping me work through the thought processes.

In reply to: Photos Show on Some Pages, Not OthersOkay. It should work then. I’ll figure it out eventually. I’m going to try setting it up as page instead of a post and see what happens.

In reply to: Photos Show on Some Pages, Not OthersThank you Rajesh.
It occurred to me last night that this is the only page that I set up as a post. Do posts allow images? I certainly hope so because I intend to illustrate my content.

In reply to: Photos Show on Some Pages, Not OthersHi Rajesh: Thank you for your reply. But I found where the images go. What I need is where the HTML files go. In the WordPress page editor the following HTML code is included and my image shows in visual mode:
<img class=”alignleft size-medium wp-image-87″ alt=”Charles Fillmore” src=”https://lifeofvictoryenterprises.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/Charles-Fillmore-300×240.jpg” width=”300″ height=”240″ />
But if you go to the actual page on the internet at https://lifeofvictoryenterprises.com/blog/ and go to View Page Source you will see that the text above is not included in the source.
I believe I need to find the actual file and insert this text into it manually.

In reply to: Problem going liveThank you. It has been suggested that I check with our local college computer lab.
Also, I apologize for asking about paying someone. I found a posting that this is a “no no” on this forum. I can only say that I didn’t know.

In reply to: Problem going liveI understand your concerns, but I am getting very frustrated. Is there any place at WordPress where I can simply pay for someone to get this straightened out? I suspect an “expert” could do in an hour what I’ve tried to do for nearly two days with no good results.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Problem going liveWell, I seem to have lost WPyogi’s support. My service provider, Whois, is telling me that I just need to move the entire content from the “WP” folder to the “public_html” directory. Since I’ve copied the index.php and .htaccess files to the public_html directory and made changes to the index.php file I am a bit nervous about this, but I guess it’s my next thing to try.
Forum: Installing WordPress
In reply to: Problem going liveOkay, I think I followed the instructions and this is what I get when I try to open my website: Warning: require(/home/lovinfv2/public_htmlpublic_html/wp-blog-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/lovinfv2/public_html/index.php on line 17
Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/lovinfv2/public_htmlpublic_html/wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/lovinfv2/public_html/index.php on line 17
I thought it might be the need to change permalinks, but now I can’t figure out how to get to my dashboard!
When we get through with this I am going to owe WPyogi a cup of coffee — or a strong drink!
Thanks for the warning about making changes in the middle of the night, but specific people will be pointed to the site and I’m not worried about it working yet — though the sooner the better.

In reply to: Problem going liveWPyogi,
Thank you very much for this information. I have a “wp” directory in my Control Panel so I assume that I am looking at making the changes under “Using a pre-existing subdirectory install”.
There is just one problem. I cannot find a “General panel”. Where should I be looking for it?
I have looked at my WordPress dashboard page and the cPanel.
