Thanks for your quick reply. Yes, I do have a snippet of js code added for smooth scrolling which in need for my single product pages. I am not experienced with code, but I did test that if I remove the href=”#” from the velocity.php file then all works fine. I know however that this is not the best way to go as any updates will over ride that change. Would you happen to have any code snippet I could add to my functions.php to create the same effect?

Update
I located the plugin that was creating that gibberish excerpt. Appears it only does it when the actual excerpt box is empty.

Problem solved by:
1. Manually adding my excerpt in the excerpt box on the edit page
2. Making sure your plugin setting to override the excerpt box is not checked

I guess using the backend editor for visual composer somehow prevents an excerpt from automatically being taken from the content? I created a 2 column display and placed the content in the first column.

New Problem:
Now the maximum length of excerpt setting on your plugin is not working. It just shows the entire excerpt.

This has nothing to do with your plugin. Appears to be malware on my site from another plug in. When I am logged in on my site I don’t see the gibberish text excerpt but when logged out it is visible on all browsers. Thank you so much for your time in looking into this.

Does it say ”want create site: Find Free WordPress Themes […]”? That is not my excerpt and that is all I see on all browsers except Chrome. That is really strange. I have cleared my browser and have all caching turned off but still see this stuff on other browsers and only “[…]” on Chrome. Could you kindly copy and paste what you are seeing for the excerpt? Could there be a conflict with visual composer that I am using for the post?

I have no idea where that text is coming from. But still there is no excerpt at all on desktop using google chrome.
