Sorry, I actually can’t remember where I left this. For various reasons, it’s been months since I’ve had time to work on the blog so haven’t uploaded any new photos. All I can say is that I haven’t seen any more disappearing photos, but that may just be because I fixed all the bad links and haven’t added any new ones…

I’ve been using the LR/Blog plugin. Yes, it’s easy. I don’t use Aperture, so I can’t compare it to that. On the other hand, I’ve been having some weird things happen to jpgs that I upload with the plugin: sometimes the file gets damaged, not immediately but at some random length of time (days, weeks) after it’s been uploaded. I haven’t yet systematically tried to debug the problem but I am starting to wonder whether LR/Blog is the culprit.

Hi, Matt — I have something of the opposite situation: Shadowbox is working and I don’t want to break it while I’m trying to fix a different problem.

Random photos have been disappearing from my media library, and then they don’t show up on my site (www.visiblelightphoto.net). In order to fix this, I installed the WP Flash Uploader plug-in (https://www.tinywebgallery.com/blog/wfu) which also includes a Sync Media Library module that’s supposed to take care of the problem.

When I go to the Sync Media Library plug-in, it shows me all the files that are in the uploads folder that aren’t in the media library. This includes all the files in the Shadowbox JS folder that’s sitting inside the uploads folder.

So – I gather from the above posts that I need to keep the Shadowbox files in the uploads folder in order for the plug-in to work. If I sync and pull all those Shadowbox files into my media library, is that a problem?

Thanks! I checked the plugin page and I’m not sure whether this addresses my problem or not.

The problem isn’t when I upload new images; they all upload just fine. But every once in a while, images that I uploaded some time ago disappear from the library and from the page(s) where I’ve inserted them. Will the Flash Uploader plugin help with that?

Help – I’m having a similar problem (I think)… Some media files (.jpgs) are randomly disappearing from the media library and from blog posts; they’ll be there one minute and gone the next. I can find the files through cPanel but the media library says the file doesn’t exist. I haven’t had a chance to try deactivating all the plugins to see if that’s the problem. I did try the hotfix above and it didn’t work (although I’m using WP 3.3.1, so maybe that’s the reason).

I’m pretty new at this and probably know enough to get myself into trouble but not always out of it. The references above to rebuilding the site are somewhat disturbing… Is there somewhere I can find a slightly more simplified discussion of this problem?

Thanks, Sarah. I think I’ve got the NextGen Flashviewer installed, but now I’m confused about what you are uploading. I created a slideshow in Lightroom and uploaded it to my site, but NextGen is asking for .zip files and that’s not what I’ve got. When I try exporting the slideshow it doesn’t give me the option to send it to a .zip file. Did you export the slideshow and then zip it, or is there something else I’m missing here?

I’m having a related problem – I uploaded a Lightroom gallery but I can’t get it to load on my site. It looks like you managed to get your problem fixed (I’m looking at your portfolio pages). Did you use a plug-in to embed the gallery in your page? Any words of wisdom you can share as far as how to get it working?
