That should actually have been https://www.phukuile.com/eldon/wp-login.php for the 500 error – our mistake.
I updated the .htaccess as per your recommendation and the formatting is fixed at https://www.phukuile.com/eldon – thank you

Tested creating a new site and seeing if that shows up in the Network. This did not work at first. I realised that I needed to set up the main admin user as a user of each site. (It would be better to have this show up as default, really)
