In reply to: Is there a way to dynamically generate pages?Michael,
Thanks so much for replying.
I am trying to create a sports website. I wanted to dynamically generate posts that would use data from games in the last 24 hours. I wanted to leave these posts in draft mode so I can then edit them w/ some human commentary.
I also wanted to dynamically create pages for each player and that would be about 500 pages.
I see wpdb can help but it seems like you need to know the structure of the DB to dynamically generate these pages and posts.
Also is there a way to put pages that provide tools, e.g. how is a player doing?, within a wordpress site? These pages can be PHP or another language.

In reply to: [Plugin: Twitter Tools] Occasional Double PostsI saw it happen on one of my blogs but not the other. Both are on the same system. I wonder if it has anything to do with how it plays with other plugins?

In reply to: Problems with wp-stats update to 1.5I upgraded and didn’t see the problems previously mentioned but what I did notice is that I can no longer switch between all the sites that I am tracking w/ WordPress.com stats. I quite miss that feature.

In reply to: [Plugin: User Permissions] Guest users cannot see any postsIt turns out the problem is not what I described earlier.
The problem is actually w/ the Yet Another Related Posts Plugin. When it lists the related posts, if one of them happens to be protected then it redirects even though that post itself is not protected.
I fixed this and blogged about the fix in my post Getting User Permissions to work with YARPP.

In reply to: [Plugin: User Permissions] Guest users cannot see any postsAfter further investigation I have found that this problem occurs only w/ certain themes such as vSlider 3 and Greening. I am still not sure what these themes have in common that is causing the problem. I don’t have this problem w/ themes like Disconnected, WordPress Default, Craving4Green, and Sirius.

In reply to: posts only for authorized usersThanks. Any help would be appreciated.
Forum: Fixing WordPress
In reply to: posts only for authorized usersI admit I am a newbie to WordPress and could be doing everything.
Saying that in my testing of the plugin I found that when I set the post level to 1, the post was not showing up for the registered user, even when I set his role at administrator. I then noticed the user levels tab which is only there if the plugin is enabled. I also noticed that no user levels were set. I realized I could set the level manually for every user that registers but that would be far too manual and kind of defeat the whole purpose.
Any suggestions?

In reply to: posts only for authorized usersUnfortunately that plugin does not seem to work well w/ WordPress 2.3.x because the idea of user levels is gone.
